It appears that Shadowed Unit Frames remains the current, consistent addon constantly throwing taint errors based on the taint.log file (it's the only one showing up over over a 6+ hour normal gaming session).

Errors like this make up the entirety of the 100kb+ log file and i'm not entirely sure if there's a workaround.
I'm using Shadow Unit Frames and have it set up to show all icons (buff, debuffs, enemy crap being put on my targets etc. etc.).
Now I'm very happy with SuF and I don't want to switch to other frames or the default frames. However it would be nice to have a more profound indicator for CC's. I have tried LoseControl but those indicators don't show on my unit frames (if I put 'm there, they fall underneath the frames and aren't visible). Also, I find LoseControl a bit clunky since I have to drag it frame by frame and also for each other character individually (no profiles or default profile).
Long story short, any way to setup SuF to show CC's on friendly targets more profound as from a healer perspective? (don't want to switch to other frames). Thanks
Writing this again because with updates this should be changed. I'm sure it would have been sooner if author played a warrior often.
The spell to use for hostile targeting for warriors with in-range. Should not be Charge(100), rather it should be Taunt(355). Given Charge is nul for warriors at close proximities. So the in-range will fail and determine you are out of range. When you are very much in range.
should be:
hostile = {["WARRIOR"] = GetSpellInfo(355),-- Taunt, better
As for the friendly in-range .. Intervene will work in some cases. Though if they are just out and about in the world. Intervene displays as nul to certain things. Found that spell will show players out of range. Currently figured a better detector for friendly in many cases .. simply is bandages. And have since used 3275 (linen bandage) for the friendly in-range.
friendly = {["WARRIOR"] = GetSpellInfo(3411),-- Intervene, not effective at ALL unless in a group.
should be:
friendly = {["WARRIOR"] = GetSpellInfo(3275),-- Linen Bandage, better. And will show in or out of groups.
Could the author update their range.lua because this change is far better than the ones currently in it for warriors. Thank you.
Is there a way to show hots on the frames? Either frame highlighting or adding some sort of indicator on the frames? Trying to track which raid members I have hots rolling on is pretty difficult as a druid.
Hello - thanks for reading this - i love SUF but have two questions about how to add functionality to the raid frames:
1) i would like to see which groups that each raider is in - i still want them ordered by raid role, but would like to know what group number each is (just like i can see the group number on my character frame) - is there a way to see this?
2) for some reason when i right click on raid frames my options are limited compared to other frames. For example if i click on party or target frames i can inspect, whisper, etc. but i do not have those same options on raid frames - right now if i want to whisper to a raider i have to target them and then right click on the target to whisper them. I have searched the setup screen and can't find how to add this functionality. Am i missing something?
I recently decided to try an alternative to X-Perl, and after checking a couple of addons out, I decided to give SUF a try.
Overall, I love the customization it offers, as well as the option to link frames to each other. There are however a few issues I came across:
In the Pet section, on the Bars tab, there is an option called "Enable Guardian bar", but these options aren't selectable. (The option is also available on the Player tab, where it works fine.)
If you select all frames in the Global section, and make some changes, several options aren't applied to all sections.
- The "Show Heal Absorb" settings on the Bars tabs aren't applied correctly to the main tank targets.
- The "Cast bar" settings on the Bars tab aren't applied correctly to most targets (Pet target, Party targets, Focus target, etc...), except the player target.
I used to run a separate addon for the main tank list, but since SUF seems to support it's own main tank list, I gave it a try, but ran into several issues:
- Is there a way to show Main Tank Target of Target? Highly useful to see if tanks have aggro on their current mobs.
- Is there a way to show all the characters with the Tank role, instead of or in addition to the characters assigned as Main Tank?
Finally, I've been trying out a bunch of settings, but I cannot figure out a way to dynamically link something to the Raid frames. When I link my Focus frame to the Party frames, the Focus frame automatically moves up and down when I invite or uninvite players, but I cannot mirror that functionality with the Raid frames. Whenever I link something to the raid frames, that frame's top left corner becomes equal to the raid frame's top left corner.
My raid frames are currently set up as:
- Separate raid frames enabled.
- Row offset 17
- Row growth down
- Column spacing 0
- Column growth right
- Groups per row 8
- Group row spacing 0
- Sort method index
- Sort order ascending
- Groups to show all enabled
- Scale 100%
- Height 35
- Width 113
- Anchor point bottom left
- Anchor to screen
- X offset 0
- Y offset 1200
My resolution is 1920x1200, so those settings place them nicely in the top left corner as 8 groups next to each other, and I like how that looks. What I want to do is have the Raid pets show up directly right of the Raid frames. For example, in a 10 man raid, they should show up where Group 3 would normally be, but in a 25 man raid, they should show up where Group 6 would normally be. Is there a way to achieve this?
Thanks for all the great work! It's a pretty cool addon. :)
Also, I just noticed that while the bar to show the duration of Raise Dead works fine, the bar that shows the duration of GoAK doesn't show up. I tried Prot and Ret.
EDIT: I found another issue with the Party/Raid settings. There is an option that allows you to show the Party instead of the Raid in a raid with 5 or less people. However, there are two issues here:
1) If the Raid Frames are hidden because the raid has 5 or less players, the Raid Pet Frames are still there, which is rather annoying if these are in more or less the same location as the Party Frames. Two possible solutions:
- When the Raid Frames are hidden, because there are 5 or less players in the raid, also hide the Raid Pet Frames.
- Give the Raid Pet Frames their own settings to be hidden with 5 or less players.
2) If there are 5 or less players in the raid, but these aren't all in the same group, the Raid Frames are hidden, but you only see the people in your own party, and not people in another party in the raid. I realized this after not getting any loot from quest mobs, while I could see neither my party frames, nor my raid frames. Found out there was some offline guy in another group in the raid. Two possible solutions:
- When there are 5 or less players in the raid, show all players as if they're in your party.
- Change the settings to show the party frames instead of the raid frames when groups 2-8 are empty, so they only activate when everyone is in group 1.
Question: How do I get the Healer icon to appear on raid frames?
This will probably never be read, but on the long shot someone out there has an answer...
I've got SUF tweaked and tuned to be almost perfect, except for one problem: when in raids, my raid frames show who's a tank, who has leader and assist, ready status etc etc... everything but who is a healer. Dungeon/party frames show the healer icon, just not raid frames.
As a healer I use the frames along with Clique, and I'd love to be able to give other healers priority but the only way I can do this now is by clicking on each person and trying to remember the names of the healers.
Is there something that I have configured wrong? Does SUF support this? If not, can it?
I haven't played in ages, came back and am setting up my UI from scratch again.
I get all my unit frames where I want them (while playing in windowed mode) and if I should move the window to another monitor or any time I log out then back in again a few of my bars are out of place and must be re-placed. (Focus, Focus Target, Target of Target, ToToT, and Pet bars.)
I believe this has something to do with the fact the game starts in a slightly different size/ratio than what I maximize the window to. I know that, in years past, I haven't had this issue with SUF though so I'm sure it's a checkbox I forgot to click somewhere or something of that sort.
Any help to keep all unit frames stuck in their position relative to other screen elements? I've tried anchoring everything to something other than the screen but that just opened up a whole other can of worms for me. :S
is there a way to make the option to "Enlarge Removable Auras" to work with my warrior??
I rly like that option on my shaman or mage which have spellsteal/purge abilities.
Hey all, not sure if anyone has already posted a response to this. Sorry if this is narcing it or old, but I happened to accidentally come across the solution. I did this for my Target frame. Anyways, you have to enable Advanced option on the General (left column) - General Tab, under the General settings in order to see it in Target options.
I think the work General has been used too much, but the information is there!
Why not implement in SUF also the possibility to bind some mouse/keys to the units so we can remove others addon and use SUF only ?
Why should every unit frame author spend time and effort reinventing (or copying) the wheel? It's more efficient to just let Clique handle click-casting, especially when you consider that many users use one addon for raid frames, and another addon for other unit frames, and maybe even a third addon for arena frames. Should the user have to configure the same click-casting settings over and over? It's easier from a user perspective to just use Clique, too. You just set it up once, and it works across all addons, and even if you switch addons. There is absolutely no benefit to being able to "remove other addons and use <insert one addon here> only" for anyone involved.
I am a Demo Lock and don't have a Demonic Fury Bar.. How can I get this to work .. I tried looking in the config but only found a spot for Soul shards.. the power bar doesn't show the demonic fury either

Im having a problem with my target when i enable the option to display buffs and debuffs.
I mean that if i have that option enable my target get bugged with my last target, if i target my self and then target another player or npc instead of seeing their frames i see mine. And if i disable the buffs and debuffs display it works ok.

type /suf
expand Unit configuration
select Raid
go to the Indicators tab
select Dungeon Role
enable Enable indicator
You might have to fiddle with the coordinates a bit.
