Today Shadowed Unit Frames reset all of my SavedVariables for the addon with no warning. I d/ced from the game while in a raid, came back a few hours later to log back in and found that everything had been reset. Why has this happened? What's going on?
Most likely the WoW client screwed up writing the saved variables file. I've once experienced this for all my installed addons. Since then I'm making a backup of my WTF folder at least once a month :)
I noticed that the in range indicator for warriors is using I believe Charge? It honestly should be using 'throw' or 'heroic throw' as a reference. Given that 'charge' is unavailable when targeting friendlies and thus in-range will show you are out of range even when you are in range. While 'throw' and 'heroic throw' will show for friendlies or enemies within range. It works if they are partied with you. Though if they are out in the world and you target a friendly or NPC it shows out of range =/ So truthfully there for warriors the in-range should be using one of the two throws to detect range. And not charge.
*edit*
Considering low levels and not having heroic throw. It should be using just 'throw' as they should have that. I honestly would not know. I leveled my warrior in early BC. Too long to remember what you start with. Though it may be a safe bet that 'throw' is part of that.
Its just a bit annoying to be a warrior and target something in an instance. And itll show out of range while you help your group. So between it all. Too far and too close for a warrior using in range indicator .. shows out of range for NPC's/mobs. While charge range shows in range.
How can i dismiss my Guardians? Like the Deathknight Ghoul (non-unholy) .
I cant find the option. Im sure its possible under Blizzard standart frames just by righclicking the guardian icon.
It's the same with Shadowed Unit Frames. If you don't get a menu when right clicking the pet frame you should check your other addons (e.g. Clique bindings).
Hi! I've been using SUF for a long time now, and I never had anything I couldnt figure out on my own, but I'm trying to use the default alternate power bars from blizzard. Specifically Burning Embers (first time playing a lock), I like the way the default one looks, I just want to be able to place it where I want and have it look the way I want. Is there a way to disable SUF's interaction or to make it so that I can use the default?
There are standalone mods for things like holy power which use the default model but not for burning embers sadly. Any insight would be much appreciated!
I'm a slight tard and had just posted this under comments when i saw the request to post stuff here instead - sorry! Anyway my orig. question was;
Hi,
First off, fantastic addon! Please keep up the great work with keeping it alive!
Secondly to my question; i'm playing a rogue, and would like to see the combopoints on my focus target (focus kidney etc). On normal "Target", the option for Combo Points are right there under General, but i cant seem to find it anywhere on the focus. Am i missing something or is this feature not supported? If so- is it possible to request it? or get a LUA mod i perhaps could just add myself?
I'm curious if there is a way to show debuffs directly on the unit frame themselves, I would greatly prefer it for a method of tracking certain stacking debuffs in my raid.
If not is there any insight in to how I could edit this myself to add this feature.
Would it be possible somehow to add anchor points for Party Pets? I'm trying to anchor them bellow all party members, like the Blizzard raid frames.
Thanks.
I first want to say, I absolutely love this addon.. great job! I will never go back to the standard unit frames.
That said, there ARE two things I miss very much about the standard unit frames:
1. Colored level numerals that compare your target's level to your own (e.g. if I'm level 64 and I target a level 66 mob, the "66" would be orange).
2. The gold and silver dragons that wrap around the portrait of elites and rares! There's something about seeing that silver dragon on a rare target that I just miss!
This addon has become vary popular and you can't make everyone happy, but I feel that these features would be an awesome addition to a fantastic addon!
So, I had SUF, then got a new PC and, like a dummy, I just reinstalled everything from scratch.
I have everything in SUF set up just how I like it except for one thing: my party frames (which I have set up horizontally) are too far apart!
I've looked all through the options and cannot for the life of me figure out how to change this. I know it can be done because I had it set up on my last PC.
I initially had asked why the range indicators with SUF and warriors shows off. Given too far or right on a target. The frame of the target will be set to 'out of range' ie faded. Yet if you go to a range applicable for say, charge. It shows the in range properly. Would think SUF is using something like charge to detect in-range behaviors. When it should be using throw, or something that can have variable ranges. I would like to know if I can change this in SUF itself. Or would there need to be a change in source for this to happen?
Because currently trying to have in-range behaviors with warriors makes the bars behave very silly.
*EDIT* Changed it myself and working properly.
The spell to use for hostile targeting for warriors with in-range. Should not be Charge(100), rather it should be Taunt(355). Given Charge is nul for warriors at close proximities. So the in-range will fail and determine you are out of range. When you are very much in range.
line 5 of range.lua
hostile = {["WARRIOR"] = GetSpellInfo(100), -- Charge, semi effective
As for the friendly in-range .. Intervene will work in some cases. Though if they are just out and about in the world. Intervene displays as nul to certain things. Found that spell will show players out of range. As well as Aster (Flower Vendor) in Shrine. Currently figured a better detector for friendly in many cases .. simply is bandages. And have since used 102699 for the friendly in-range.
As for a better one for warriors seems using a bandage spell. Will provide more balanced results. Unless theres a spell workable for all specs, that I have missed. Otherwise, Intervene will have limited applicability in proper in-range detection. All other instances it will fail, and thus show out of range.
Hmmm silly me maybe using 3275 for the bandage spell would be best. As that should be more useful. -- Linen Bandage
I'd like to be able to display both my Rogue combo points AND Anticipation charges on my target (rather than anticipation on myself). Say the standard 5 bar combo points under the target and under that a differently coloured bar, lets say blue for arguments sake, if possible with the second counter displayed next to it (although this isn't a necessity).
Is this something that is achievable?
I'm happy to make the amendments myself, but hoping somebody could point me in the right direction... I had a little faff around and got the bar displayed under the target but couldn't get it to function with combo points (only one updated).
I have a problem with SUF: I want the raid interface to be aligned with the player frame like on the left side on my picture (more or less). But when there are less than 20 players it looks like the right picture. What options are necessary to change it? Thanks for your help.
I been trying to make a 25 frame window to just show alt power bar % and the name , with a special color for Norushen 25 normal / heroic and have tryied every trick I could . is there anything I'm missing or can SUF not to do it ?

Edit: I looked around to see if someone else had experienced what I just did and found an old ticket on the Wowace forums: http://www.wowace.com/addons/shadowed-unit-frames/tickets/148-suf-reset-itself/
Is this something that can be fixed?
