I don't really want to be messing with the parent like that. Given that most people don't seem to be complaining about it, I'm more inclined to blame another addon right now.

I use the same set of addons. Before removal of this function from a code all worked perfectly. Why it is necessary to search for the reason somewhere, instead of in most SUF? Especially, my correction completely eliminates a problem.
There is a saying: "The best is the enemy of the good".
Be easier:)
I'm seeing some trouble with the Phase Status indicator on the party frames. If somebody zones out of an instance or goes offline, the status indicator turns on. When they come back inside, it stays on until I get within 30-ish yards, then updates (and correctly turns off). All of this is with toons that are definitely in the same phase, even inside the same instance.
I've not tried to find the code responsible for setting its state. Would it be feasible to have the status indicator default to hidden unless the client definitely says it should be on? Currently it seems to default to "no change from whatever it happens to be" until the client can determine it one way or the other, leaving frames in a visually inconsistent state.
Looks like they shouldn't have been shown on most units, and only party. There was also a small bug that I fixed, but they've been restricted to just the party unit too.

Excellent, thank you. Maybe the code shouldn't even take effect while the player is in any kind of instance? AFAIK, phasing only happens in the outdoor world.
Sorry for being dense, I still can't see anything like that except under "Global" options. And of course, configuring it under global applies the same fading rules to all frames.
For each unit type, I'm looking in the main/general page, as well as in the submenu list of unit elements (eg: raid icon, combat text, etc). In the general page I only see options for disabling/copying the layout, for setting its size/pos, and for setting its border texture. In the submenu list, I only see components of the UF which would be visible if enabled, rather than behaviours such as fading.
I do have the STUF range module enabled in my addons list.
Was wondering if a similar feature could be added to SUF? I use the unit frames, party and raid layouts and wouldn't mind a second bar showing the absorb as a % of total hp or some such option.
I understand you can turn on buffs and display these but the basic idea is to have a quick way of seeing who has mitigation shields and who doesn't so as to focus on someone quickly when the big bad AoE damage starts.
Thanks!
Looking into it further, Blizzard doesn't categorize the data and the same arg is used for different numbers (heals, buffs, etc). I would have to either use a whitelist or use a kludge to make it work.
If they change it later, I'll implement it still, but right now it doesn't look like it's going to happen.
i've a problem with suf, which is realy depressing me since a few weeks:
i play a HolyPaladin in PvP and turned on the function to color the frameborder of the groupframes like debufftypes. Works finde with gifts and diseases, but not with (all) magic debuffs. The most important problem for me is, that the borders isn't colored when my mates are feared by warlocks (realy fear, not deathcoil). I can dispell it, but it is not shown by SUF as dispellable. Furthermore, i tested it with a shaman wo spams lavaeruption (is that the english name?) at me >> even with that, no border at unitframe ._.
Hi,
I recently started using SUF as a replacement for my previous unit frames addon that was misbehaving. Something I noticed almost immediately is that the timers for temporary enchants (poisons for rogues and shammy weapon enhancements) are counting down twice as fast.
Is there a possible fix for this?

I'll look into it when I have some more time, but debugging temporary enchants is complicated/annoying.
Hello. Thank you so much for keeping this addon maintained, I cannot stress enough how wonderful this addon is. One feature I would like to see implemented is the ability to filter out (de)buffs that are not cast by you when there is a (de)buff that you want to keep track of.
For example, as a Death Knight, it is important to me to see my diseases, both on my target or any focus unit. I want to be able to have my debuffs showing without seeing all of the diseases of the other Death Knights in the raid. Now, I know that there is an option to only display debuffs cast by you, and my problem with that is now I cannot see any of the other important debuffs on a target/focus that aren't cast by me, such as sunder armor, snares, vulnerabilities, random boss abilities that apply a debuff on them...the list goes on. It would be a huge help and I'd greatly appreciate being able to see this feature incorporated into the addon sometime in the future.
I hope that made some sense and thanks again for your continued work towards one of the most beloved addons for any WoW UI enthusiast.

Your own debuffs are always shown at the start of the list of debuff icons; try increasing the size of only those icons. (There's an option for that somewhere on the auras tab.)
Okay so my SUF randomly completely reset the other day after a WoW Error, so I had to reconfigure everything. One thing I CANNOT find for the life of me is where the option is to remove the borders around the buffs and debuffs, I've done this before but I just can't remember how I did it. Please help me D:

When you open /suf look for "Aura border style" it's on the initial page when you open it. Select "None"
Hello! I've been using SUF for more than a year now and I really appreciate how much effort you put into this addon, thank you.
In preparation for 4.3, I wanted to polish my UI a bit again and I'd like to report/request few minor tweaks for SUF that I'd really love to see in future releases.
Combo points bar - Currently, the bar hides every time you have 0 combo points. I have to say, it's a bit annoying that the bar is popping in and out all the time. Would it be possible to add a simple checkbox that makes it possible to display even empty combo point bar all the time? It feels much more natural when the bar itself is still there and only combo points are displaying and hiding.
Aura filtering - It would be really nice if we could filter auras not only by spell name, but also by spell ID. For example as a rogue, I do want to show Hemorrhage DoT but I don't care about Hemorrhage debuff.
"Offline" units - I noticed that when switching targets, some units display as "offline" for a second before they disappear. Example: In a raid, I have a boss targeted and Target of Target displayed. Normally, the tank is displayed as ToT. But when the boss targets someone else and casts an ability, this happens: 1) ToT displays tank 2) ToT displays tank as <offline> 3) ToT disappears 4) ToT displays new target. It's not a big deal and I got used to it, but removing the 2) would not hurt.
As for 1), lol. It seems that when updating for Cataclysm version I just took a quick glance at the corresponding line and did not notice that the condition isn't actually within the "if" statement. My bad.
I've recently downloaded sUF and am very impressed with how customizable it is - I especially like the test-mode setup where I can easily see dummy frames and move them around to get the setup right without having to pull friends into a party, etc.
I am having two challenges and wondering if there is anything I can do to address these. Both of them relate to having things "stand out" from the standard unit frame:
1) Paladin Holy Power - I am having a really hard time seeing the HoPo indicator, unless I bloat the unit frame size to super-big and then set up the HoPo "bar" to be large. Is there a way to have the HoPo "bar" float outside of the player unit frame? Or have the unit frame actually grow in size when the HoPo bar comes up (rather than just shrinking the other bars in the unit frame to accomodate the HoPo bar)? Or could I use the default Blizz HoPo bar somehow?
2) Target's casting bar - in the same way, I'm not recognizing the target's casting bar come up as quickly as I need to. I've played around with the size of the bar, setting it to have a really big percentage of the unit frame to be able to see it - but ideally, I'd like to be able to either have the target unit frame "grow" (so basically the cast bar disrupts the screen) or have it "float" under the target unit frame (like the default Blizz bar behavior). Is any of this possible in the setup?
I also will note that I had been frustrated by losing my right-click ability to set a focus, and didn't realize that was a Blizz limitation on custom unit frames until I saw some help text to that effect in the Pitbull setup, telling me to use "/focus" and "/clearfocus" (I've been compare-and-contrasting UFs). Small suggestion, but a similar note in the sUF right-click menu might be good for other users.

2) Added
3) Not going to happen, it's more of a Blizzard issue.
