don't know if i am missing it or if it is not added yet, but can i change bar texture?
and the other thing i cant find, can i turn down the opacity on the background of portrait if i have 3-D full body?
I just pushed the Aura filtering to the repo. The next alpha package will include it. Since this is new and very different than what we had before I thought I would give you guys some info about the system.
First and foremost there is a Filters tab now under the Aura Tab for a layout. You can set a filter for Buffs or Debuffs. By default you will see 3 options. None, which does no filtering. Default buffs or debuffs which should be roughly the same as what checking the filtering checkbox in PB3. Default buffs/debuffs, mine which is the same as the default filtering in PB3 except it limits it to auras that you actually can cast.
If you go under Modules and expand Aura out there is an entry on the left column labeled Aura filter editor. There are two tabs in here. Simple and Advanced.
Simple is pretty much exactly the same configuration as what you had in PB3. This lets the average user who doesn't want to mess with the complications of the entire filtering system to alter which friendly buffs and debuffs are shown and which enemy debuffs are shown.
Advanced exposes the entirety of the filtering logic to the user. You can do largely anything you want in here. But with this great power comes a fair amount of complexity.
You can define as many filters as you like. Each filter does one thing. You then use a Meta filter to combine the filter with AND and OR operators. It is important to note that AND pairs are evaluated before OR pairs. So if you have TRUE AND FALSE OR TRUE it would be handled as (TRUE AND FALSE) or TRUE which ultimately evaluates as TRUE. You can do this to combine things easily as was done in the default filters.
The filtering system is designed around functioning as a whitelist. If the filter assigned to the frame evaluates to true for an aura then the aura is displayed. With some effort you could flip this around, but I'll leave how to do that as an excercise to anyone that might want to do that.
Since there are so many filters in the default system and most of them are not designed to be actually selected as a filter on a frame, each filter has a Display when option that lets you choose when to show it as a filter option in the layout editor. You can set it to show for buffs, debuffs, both or never. For intermediate filters you'll probably want it set to Never.
I would adise that people wanting to do advanced things to avoid editing the default filters. It's fine to use the default filters as part of your filter. But if you start editing the default filter then you may end up with strange issues if the default changes. A good example of how to do things is to look at the Default buffs, mine. The filter uses the Default buffs filter as part of the implementation but isn't an entire reimplementation of it.
You may have noticed the Delete button is disabled on a lot of the filters. All default filters can not be deleted. Filters that are used in other Meta or Map filters can not be deleted. Filters used by a layout can not be deleted.
So let's walk through an example of extending the filters with something someone mentioned on one of the tickets. Let's say you're a Paladin and want to show some buffs that are movement impairment effects that you can remove with Hand of Freedom.
First, make a new filter for the the names of the auras you want to pickup. Let's call this Movement debuffs. We'll set this filter to Never show and choose the Filter Type of Name. Set the List Type to Whitelist and enter the names of the auras in the New name box and click ok.
Make another new filter. Let's call it Friend Debuffs + Movement. Set it to Never, Meta and make the filter: All friend debuffs and Movement debuffs.
Now select the Default debuffs. And with it select make a new Filter. Let's call it my My Debuffs. This filter will be the same as the Default debuffs filter. Now all we have to do is change All friend debuffs to Friend Debuffs + Movement.
Now select My Debuffs on a layout and you'll see those extra auras.
One last note. The class and race default filters are not really done. They need work. There are very likely many auras, especially ones added late in TBC or with Wrath that are not included. Please do help me by letting me know about them.
I seem to have this problem.. after i'm finished using the config, there are areas of the screen in the middle that i cannot click on.. like invisible panels that don't have click through so it stops me moving my camera etc.. anyone else got this?
Layouts automatically inherit any settings that the currently selected layout has.
E.g. if you have the default, normal layout selected, any layout you create will have all settings defaulted to that layout. But if you make a custom layout, then create a new layout while on that custom one, the new layout inherits all settings the custom one has.
P4 is really not worse trying about performance, here a default install of P4 uses 15% much cpu than any others of my mod, the biggest after it uses 2%, I thought you had reconsidered cpu usage ckk but seems not. too sad I should look for a lightweight alternative because fighting at 10fps by this has nothing fun.
