For those having massive errors after upgrading, I may have found an explanation. I always update using WUA WITH externals. After multiple attempts installing, uninstalling, deleting, reinstalling Pitbull, Cowtip, Cartographer and FuBar with no success, I decided to download the files from the WowAce file list and install manually.
What I discovered is that when using WUA, the installations were creating individual directories for each embedded module. For instance, after installing with WUA I had folders in my Interface/Addons directory for Pitbull, Pitbull_Aura, Pitbull_Banzai, Pitbull_BarFader.... etc, etc. However when I download the Pitbull file manually and expanded it to my Addons folder, only a single Pitbull folder existed. The same was the case for Cartographer.
After manually installing the files, I logged in and other than a couple minor Cartographer errors, I have regained access to all 4 addons.
Not sure if I have settings wrong in WUA or if there's a problem elsewhere, but try deleting ALL Pitbull and Cartographer folders from your Addons directory, and install manually to see if it solves your issues.
I can confirm the above fix for errors and disappearing unitframes. I did the same thing by unchecking the "Unpacking Addons" option in the preference menu of WowAceUpdater.
How do I change the Aura's (Buffs & Debuffs) to have charp edges just like caith have done, she said that she changed them in Aura.lua, but I have no clue on what to do in there :)
I updated WITHOUT externals and my unit frames are back.
Yeah, WITHOUT seems to be the key. One of my guildies was having problems, so I suggested he update to without externals and all if fine now. I didn't run into the problem yesterday because I had read somewhere about trying that and did. If you switch all your addons to WITHOUT and reload them all, you'll notice a decent upgrade in game loading time and UI reloads.
Request for PitBull:
There is an option (or maybe it's by default) that when a heal is being cast on you, the expected heal will show on your health bar in a somewhat transparent fashion. This is a great feature.
CK, could you please add a feature like this for showing the amount of mana a spell being cast is going to use up (kindof opposite to the way the heal is shown, but on the mana bar of the caster). This'd be helpful to me to determine if I'm about to screw my mana with a spell that'll eat it up.
In my very lame speak externals are the libraries that your addons use. With externals means that you will find lib folder inside the most of addons. Without means that all the little folders from lib folder sit in your ..\Interface\AddOns directory along with the mods that use them. You can find less lame speak info about it within those forums. Just to get you started you can look here.
Hi,
I've been using Pitbull for a few days now and I am quite amazed what I have done with it in this short time.
The only thing that really bugs me is, that I just can position the frames with drag'n'drop (because I never manage to get them exactly where I want).... Is there a possibility to position them with some absolute x and y values?
Some remarks on the threat display. In it's current form I turned it off because Omen gives me a clearer view of what I need to know, namely the relative threat to others, especially the threat leader.
I know this may be tricky but is there a way to have relative threat to a join target rather than absolute threat? That way the information in the frame would be more useful. Negative threat to second in line for a threat leader might be cool too (i.e. tanks knowing how much of a lead they have).

Aha, this sounds like a good plan. Had errors galore yesterday (did post some on the jira) even after emptying WTF and addon folder completely and redownloading. About 2 or 3 times :D
It's a bit funny that you hear conflicting solutions "update WITH externals and you're fine" vs "update WITHOUT and you're fine".
I'm definitely going to try the manual download and if that doesn't work, jump out of a window or something :) I really don't get why it doesn't work for me, but I am not giving up.

For me it was buggs all over the place when i ran my default update (without externals) so i deleted both folders and restored the backups i made of addons and WTF then tried with exetrnals as i had read in several posts and it worked perfect, not a single error.

Ha, well I cleared out old folders and did the download WITH externals and my bugsack nearly exploded, so it's a bit strange that some people have to do it with and others without to make it error free. Biggest explosion of errors is when I try to run Cartographer and Pitbull together. Disabling Cartographer (entirely, not just Battlegrounds) reduces errors when I login. But when I try to pick a profile for Pitbull I get slapped in the face with errors again.
Anyhow, will try manual approach now :) I'm sure it will all be fine in the end, so you won't hear me whining and complaining. I'll stick with it and see where I end up tomorrow.
I have set it to 20% when not in combat and its working nicely for everything exept petframe, whenever i set the fader to active on the perframe it starts flickering between 100% and 20% constantly.

Make sure your range checking is turned off if you use combat fader :)
Ye all its fine but i wanna have all settings from old version and fast question: I dont have unit frames on screen because new version is default or what? Or meaby dont accept old configuration? I just wanna update and have the same settings.
I played again last night and had 0 issues with PitBull, Cartographer, CowTip, and Parrot... The only error I had was from whatever was done to Waterfall yesterday. I'm still confused why so many people are having problems. :(
All fine for me too. Had some problems yesterday, so I put back my backed up Interface Folder before the raid. Today I did a full reinstall of all my addons with Externals using WAU and all was fine.
Thank u CKK, awesome job.
ps. Unlike others, I love the new configuration method.

I'm defaulted to run with externals, though I have no idea what it means, but yes I did update with externals.
