For heaven's sakes people, read. :P I gave a link to the last version of PitBull pre-rock.
I figured out how to go through the index and find the old versions of Pitbull, Parrot, Cowtip. and Fubar. Back to no bugs, yay! Wish there was a way to keep hardcore BETAS off the wowace updater but I suppose everythings a beta around these parts.
Aside from the loading errors, I'm so used to the dewdrop configuration I don't know if I'll update these for a while.
9/17 16:13:09.937 ...Ons\PitBull\libs\LibRockComm-1.0\LibRockComm-1.0.lua:1416: Prefix "VER" already specified by another object: table: 0DB61EA8.
I have the same one...
Solved... looks like I was using "Install WITH externals" on my WoW Ace Updater and the two rock libs in parrot and pitbull conflicted! Hope this helps :)
Not sure if this is the right place, or helpful, but I got the following error when I logged in while having Pitbull and Cartographer enabled:
[2007/09/18 20:10:08-1-x1]: LibRockComm-1.0-50875 (PitBull):1421: Cannot embed library "table: 169995B8" into the same object "table: 16997BF0" more than once.
LibRock-1.0-50900 (PitBull):1753: in function `Embed'
LibRockComm-1.0-50875 (PitBull):1421: in main chun
I deleted both Pitbull and Cartographer in my addon folder and downloaded them anew. I also disabled Cartographer_Battlegrounds.
As soon as I disable Cartographer I get no error messages whatsoever. I can live without Cartographer for a while, so I guess I'll just go and redo my UI as I was planning to :)
As was mentioned, all add-ons on the server are "beta". If you want release versions, get them from WoWInterface.com, Curse.com or UI.WorldofWar.net. Shit happens. If you don't like it, don't use it. ADD Much?
P.S. I think in your anger, your caps lock broke. >.<
Question, is there any particular reason for Pitbull 2.0 to NOT be listed separately from Pitbull 1.0 in the files list? It would certainly make it trivially obvious to folks.
While this update was pretty frustrating (I went back to older versions), you seriously need to take a chillpill. The authors of these mods provide you with a free service in their spare time. I do tend to agree that it would be nice if they were listed in the updater as Pitbull 1.0 then Pitbull 2.0. Would make it easier for us dumb folk to avoid problems.
If you want release versions, get them from WoWInterface.com, Curse.com or UI.WorldofWar.net.
While generally I think is a very solid piece of advice, there are unfortunately a large number of addon authors who do not post release-quality versions to release sites with any regularity, if ever. On WoWInterface, PitBull has never been released, and Cartographer and FuBar haven't been updated since the 15th of March. So telling people who are unhappy with beta PitBull versions on Wowace to download from WoWInterface or similar is simply ridiculous. I think that authors should both post release-quality versions to release sites, and either post backwards-incompatible updates with a new name, or make sure that such updates have been extensively tested not only with WoW, but with WAU and similar. So while I think the poster you're responding to was out of line with his language and tone, I agree with the general idea of his post.
On another note...
I'd also like to see an alternate configuration interface. I love Dewdrop, other than its propensity for closing itself... it's clean, intuitive, and handles both long lists and deeply nested option sets gracefully. Waterfall, on the other hand, is none of these things, and I'm a bit sad to see that in the conversion to Rock, the dropdown menu interface was dropped. :(
HOW TO UPDATE:
1. If you use external (standalone) libraries, make sure WAU is set to automatic dependency download, grab the PitBull update (WAU will download Rock, etc) and you're g2g.
2. If you're using embedded libs (WITH externals or straight off the files page) delete the old PitBull folder, download the new, and you're good to go.
This has always confused me.
Embeds = Libraries within the particular Add-Ons Folder and no Folder w/i the Main "Add-ons" Fodler
and
Externals = Libraries outside the particular Add-on Folder and a separate folder w/o the Main "Add-ons" Folder.
That right ?
I'm not sure which is better for Stability and or Mem usage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I've read some of the wiki stuff ... but I'm pretty retarded when it comes to this stuff.
Oh .. and how do you get rid of the Interact Lines? I've never liked them. I can see how the change the colors, but not how to disable them.
@Innovindil: no impact on memory or performance. but you do have the idea correct, I think.
Disabling a module was in the same post that you quoted from. ;) You can also completely disable the module on the Addons screen if the addon was "unpacked"

I don't have the modules "unpacked" and I don't the selection that you are referring to inside the PitBull config screen.
But, that said as I typing this i found it under the specific frames type. ie I have to disable it by hand under Player, Target, ToT, etc etc. Def don't like that at all.
Then perhaps I forgot where it was located now - I wasn't in game when I wrote that up. But there's a pulldown menu where you choose your modules. It looks like an edit box with the modules in it like "Portrait, Interact Lines, Estimated Heals, ..." too long to fit in the box. If you click on the arrow next to it, you get the menu.

Alt+right click a unit
Go to the top level pitbull section - the one with the pitbull icon

Addons downloaded from this site are beta versions, not released to public,

Then I spent another hour reconfiguring my UI after installing Quartz. :P
Now I can't get my target of target cast bar to work.
I don't think I like Rock btw. /shrug

The Ides of March are upon us!!! (sorry... :P )

2nd selection is the Modules pulldown.
AH AH. Thx :-)
Did a WAU upgrade, logged in, and everything was exactly as it had been before pre-Rock with no errors.
My only qualm is the rock icon stuck to my minmap.
