This is my first time that I have had to post on the Wowace forums because normally I can find the answer to my question somewhere in some thread. The problem that I am having now is I can't get Pitbull to save the layout that I currently have setup? I have my main toons UFs setup perfect, and I want to have my alt UFs the same way, but no matter what I do it doesnt save the layout and anytime that I try to mimic the layout on my alt (ie build it from scratch) it changes the layout on my main ><. It is just upsetting. I have tried downloading the newest version of Pitbull, I have tried saving it with only Pitbull being the only addon active also. It just seems that nothing is working. Well thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for any help that you are able to offer me.
*Also, I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread or if I was suppose to create a new thread.*
Im no LUA coder but changing the settings for priest class to what is below would do it?
if class == "PRIEST" then
distanceCheckFunction = function(unit) return IsSpellInRange(BS["Flash Heal"], unit) == 1 or IsSpellInRange(BS["Mind Blast"], unit) == 1 end
I started my own thread of this but figured I would drop this in here to just incase since it does relate to pitbull, its probably better forum maners anyway.
Basicly my problem is that for a while now I have been using the standard UI (I do this whenever I start a alt) so when I updated pitbull last night through the WAU well it didnt work so hot. Now whenever I run wow whichever modual is closest to the top (ie closest to right underneath pitbull) that is enabled will give me a error. Also I cant enable or disable any moduals for pitbull that were not enabled in the addon screens I can on disable and reenable addons that I had checked ahead of time (that is a new thing so that might be how its supposed to work). The real issue I am having is that for some reasson I cant get anything to show up inside my pitbull frames. No colors, text, bars, textures, nothing. I have delted all my saved variable files, reinstalled the addon, and done a master reset within the pitbull options. Anyone have any way of fixing this?
come on seerah I am sure you have something, just do your ninja poof already :)
@enzy: it sounds like you're using the same profile for each character (if changing one changes the other) but you're not seeing the same layout?... First, double-check that you are using the same profile for each character (if you want them to be exactly the same, including placement, that is). If all else fails, go to Player->Other->Layout->Save and save it. Then on the other character, you can select that layout to use.
@Valdeck: if you are getting errors, we need those to help you.
I will give you the erros once I get home from work however I can tell you that ironically enough the erros are the moduals them selves. Meaning whenver it errors it says "can not find 'module name'". And it only does it for the first one on the list the rest of them seem to work (minus the bars and text those wont show up at all) but like the highlighting and porteraits do work.
Also if I run just pitbull 2.0 with none of the moduels then I get no errors at all but I get nothing in the frames... (I still dont see why WAU dosnt just downloat them all as one addon but thats just semantics).
I don't have the luxury of getting on the forums when I'm teaching a private lesson. :) I don't have students for another hour and a half.
PitBull comes modularized so that you can fully disable some of its modules if you don't use them (like the Interact Lines module - if you don't like it, you can disable it and not even have the code in memory). You can run PitBull from one folder (just download it from the files page to see). But then you lose the benefit of it being fully modularized, though you can disable modules from within the game.
Still provide your errors, but also try completely deleting PitBull and its modules and reinstalling.
come on now seerah :) I am a sr. member now after all lol I already did the full delete and reinstall before I posted. As for the modualar aspect I do see why they would do it, I guess I just prefer it all in the code since my machine can run wow 5 times over with oodly of memory and I just dont like seeing all those extra things listed in the addon list. But its alright it dosnt bother me enough to download the single file, besides if I do I alwasy forget to get it later and update everything with WAU so it ends up doing that way anyway might as well get used to it.
awww your telling me you arnt teaching and posting? I guess its a goal to shoot for anyway. So how much would you charge me for guitar lessons?
OK, I have done some more tests and there is no error being generated. The best way to show what is happening was to reord a video where the UI lag is shown. So I did it:
In the video u can c that inly when I poen the PitBull configuration the UI freezes for about 5 seconds each time I change a selction or a parameter.
There was no antivirus running in the back. Only the GameCamLite, msn messenger and Notepad++.
The only different thing I noticed is that this new PitBull release changed the dic structure and now all the module folders are insde the PitBull folder again, and not all with a separete folder in the Addon fodler as the previous release.
Are you sure it says "HealBar"? My Banzai.lua says HealthBar at line 31. There is no instance of the word "HealBar" in the file anywhere.
@Arcanefoam: PitBull can be used unpacked. Did you download it manually from the files page or something? If WAU isn't unpacking it for you, check the option in WAU Preferences, or run the batch script in your PitBull folder. See if that helps at all.
I've not seen any info regarding a solution to this so I'd like to bring it up again.
I have enabled the combo point graphic on my target frame and set it to the top-outside-left-align anchor. when I generate points, *sometimes* the points end up being displayed BOTH where they should be, but ALSO *randomly* stretched out over various frames.
first of all.. sometimes the whole frame uses a buff (or debuff?) icon as background. I was able to reproduce this beaviour by casting "Beast Lore" on any valid target. The target frame then takes the "Beast Lore" icon as background... which makes reading the unitframe really impossible.
the second bug I encountered concerns the alpha value of the Player's Pet Frame. I toggled the Combat Fader off. Out of combat the pet frame shows just fine. However as soon as I enter combat.. it's losing opacity. Actually I think it might be related to the aggro gain issue posted here earlier.. is this subject to a fix?
Is there any way of making PitBull play nice with Visor2 again? At some point something was changed, and now PitBull frames don't obey Visor settings. They'll move when setting them up, but a reloadui or re-log will reset them to where they were positioned with the mouse.
From several pages back. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Surely I'm not the only one using Visor to position PitBull frames. This not working really sucks since it's the only tool I have to position frames exactly.
Ok, some of this came up in another thread, but I figure it might be better to place in here.
Range Check.
For Priests, the test spell is listed as "Flash Heal"
However, this spell is not available until level 20. Presumably, this is why Range check doesn't work on my level 19 priest. May I suggest "Lesser Heal" instead?
Can we get offensive spells for all classes, so range check works properly against hostile targets?
If you have mouse-over enabled, and your target is under where the mouse-over frame would appear, the frame blinks on and off in a loop until you move the mouse away. Can I suggest disabling the mouse-over calls on the mouse-over and mouse-over target frames?
Some frames (target for sure) don't update the [Creature] tag when a druid shape shifts. Focus frame does update.

I'm really sorry about that.. I didn't pay enough attention I guess. The opacity issue (#2) is *not* caused by the aggro module but by range checking.. it seems like my pet was always out of range when it entered combat.. fading on "out of range" is okay.. I'm really sorry I got that mixed up ):
the first bug I described persists though. I can't rule it out for buffs.. but it certainly has that behaviour with debuffs. No matter which debuff I cast on the target (hunter's mark, beast lore, * Sting) it sometimes uses the debuff's icon as background to the whole target frame. Sometimes it's just the health bar background.. but usually it's the whole frame. I will try to provide some screenshots later that day.. unless this error is well known and you already know what I am talking about (:

Thank you, that worked perfectly. I have no clue about Lua files, so it's a good job you made it so clear :)

There is already a bug-report posted on Jira, but it has gone unnoticed for about a month.
http://jira.wowace.com/browse/PB-86
If there's anything I can do to help root out the problem let me know. It's unbelievably annoying, and I'd like to see it resolved soon.
Thanks
