Hi there,
First off I love ag_uf and have been getting into the custom layouts lately.
I have been customising an existing layout (as per the wiki's suggestion) to suit my own needs and style, and have come across a strange and annoying bug. The layout base I'm using is alcaras' AlcUI from the aUF_Layouts addon and my changes can be seen here: http://www.omgbruces.com/images/zeph_ui_testing.jpg
The bug I'm getting seems to only affect the party frames; upon login or reload of the UI the class text i.e. "9 Paladin" or "70 warlock" disappears, and only reappears when I switch the party layout to ABF or another default one, and then back to my custom one (I had to do so to take the above screenshot)
A similar bug has occured when I moved the castbar to the top of mine and my targets frames; the castbar fills up fine but the castbar text doesn't appear until I switch to a default layout and then back to my own custom one.
Any help would be much appreciated, it's the last thing I want to finish on my UI and it's driving me crazy :(
Attached is my main ZephLeft.lua - the layout for my own "Player" unitframe - which works fine and doesn't make the class text disappear, but does make the castbar text disappear...
I seem to have deleted my previous party layout in frustration, however I just duplicated the above file, changed the name of it to ZephParty.lua (and in the 3 locations at the top of the document), added to the auf_layouts.toc, and applied it to my party in an effort to try and start again with a bug-free layout and just move the text where I want, and the class text disappeared again! The 2 files are identical except for the name of the layout, so I'm very lost as to what's happening now :(
andreasg: Where on your priority list does further customization fall? I've been able to do some simple tweaks locally (adding a "Backdrop" to the portrait for example). What I'm curious about are things like 2D portrait toggles, panels behind text, etc... What's there now is pretty good, but it's also somewhat limited at the same time.
Andreas, I have a request. With the target, I would like to make their portrait much larger and outside the frame. Such as in ABF, I would just keep the frame the same, and put the portrait larger and to the outside. Right now, I know how to enlarge the portrait, but when I check portrait for ABF, the Healthbar scrunches up and becomes attached to the Portrait. I know this is because its Point is set to Portrait, but I would like to undo that and have it be unreliant on that and just the frame.
I tried setting HealthBar to "frame" but that makes it way off from the frame, and it'll still scrunch up. Sorry if i'm not being clear, but my request is that I can enable portraits and make a bigger portrait outside of the frame. I know how to do that, but I don't know how to manage the healthbar.

well, if you set HealthBar to frame you must make sure that the x and y coordinates are correct. What you want to do (ie. make everything not relative to the portrait, and then enlarge it) is possible, I'd suggest you tinker around some more with it.
I'm not currently at a suitable computer to mess with this wonderful layout stuff, but is it possible to have a text field (such as the name is these frames), set it to the right side and have it grow left? I'd also love to have the target health/mana deplete in the other direction, but I think that's already been mentioned on andreasg's google code page.
What I am trying to do is simple move the Casting bar in the default ABF layout. It currently sits at the bottom and I would like it to be on top of the HP/Mana bar.
I've tried to play with the ABF.lua file in the layout folder but I can't quite figure out how best to anchor it or how to define the anchors. I've read through http://www.wowace.com/wiki/Ag_UnitFrame_Themes but still can't get it to come out looking quite right, am I an idiot?

Any idea why the class text disappears when the layout is used on the party?
like in stellaruf http://www.wowace.com/mediawiki/images/5/59/Stellaruf.jpg
i have no idea how to make it:P
Of course. The mana bar in aguf default layout isn't as high as the healthbar.

needs improving tho, feel free to edit

That layout looks pretty doable. I don't know what you mean by "shorter mana bars". Uh, everything about mana bars can be set, ie. hight and width.
Sorry offtopic, but how to get my fonts to look like that? What mods/fonts are you using?
Hmm, couldn't find any such setting to make the height smaller. Even then, I want the text to be above the health bar, not in it.
It's not an in-game option. You have to edit/create the layouts.
Just add or change all the Font tags in your layout file to this:
These are the subtables you will need to modify:
NameLable, ClassText, HealthText, ManaText, CastText, and BarCastText
Depending on how the rest of your layout is set up, you may also need to tweak the FontSize tags for those elements as well.

This is the section of code you want to edit:
Replace it with this:
This has not been tested, some adjustments may be required.
Good luck :)
