No, i don't use the Aura module from Pitbull, and tried to disable the range check, still had those freezes, nothing to do apparently with join/leaving, it just happen "randomly" in 25 men raids.
Are you sure its not happening when someone swaps grp?
I have never had even the slightest hin of it when no join/leave/grp change
Was in Hyjal last night, first time using Pitbill in a raid, I had it set up for all my raid frames. Soon as we started to AOE down the waves, my PC would intermiddantly lock for 1-10 seconds. Disabled the raid module in Pitbull and it cleared up a bit, disabling the main tank\mtt\mttt module fixed it completely. So I just ran the entire raid with no raid frames.
All I have displayed on my raid frames, is health bar/text, mana bar/text and raid target icons, looting icons. No auras, no combat text, it is really quite simple.
Unlike a lot of the other posters mine was perfectly fine when raid members were joining and leaving or going offline etc.
When raid frames with pitbull are enabled i get lockups of 1-3 seconds whenever anyone goes offline/online and leaves/joins the raid. Also slows my general FPS quite a bit running it for some reason.
Its been said over and over, this only happens with the newer version of PB and LDT. Read back a page or 2 and there are specific revisions that still work perfectly fine, just not using the new dogtag system.

Would be nicer with a fix to current versions then having to used a version that uses a outof date and unsupoeted dogtag..
I tried it on in a 25mai raid now, and still not working well here - I still get lockups and lags, and had to disable raidframes and turn on perfectraid instead.
Thinking it could be some old configuration persisting and causing a conflict I wiped the Pitbull configuration and redid my configuration from scratch. Nothing changed, the freezes are still present.
I am giving up on Pitbull now.
I didnt use pitbull until the new dogtag - so my setup is new. The way Pitbull works now its not even an option for serious raid-users to use it, specially not for the raidframes. I have the raidframes disabled and only my own, target, and MT windows are up now. Perfectraid takes care of my raidframes, and I've got only a few slugs due to the mt-window now.
I only have Player, Player's Pet, Focus, Target and Target's Target frames enabled and I'm experincing the same hacky/freezy/spiky issue when someone in the raid goes offline, joins party, dies or gets swapped in groups. I also figured out that there's no spikes when we're very few players in the instance. Me and a friend of mine went to BT to try it out and I could swap him around without any freezing.
There must be someone here who can figure out this problem? I think we can pretty much be sure this has something to do with pitbull/Dogtags from all the replies here. Has it really been totally abandoned? I know ckk stopped developing the addon, but I was under the impression he was going to maintain at least Pitbull. With all the talent on these forums someone must be able to pick up the pieces. I don't have any numbers, but in my personal experience Pitbull is by far the most popular UnitFrame for WoW. For 10mio accounts, that's a lot of Pitbull users (I know probably most of the players ?n wow probably don't even know how to work with addons, let alone the heavy configurable ones like Pitbull), but with all of these people out of the picture the playerbase is still enormous.
Or maybe someone just quit their job (or has alot of time on their hands) and want to create a Pitbull rival with the same ammount of configurations, but perhaps Ace3 instead of Rock-based. This issue has made me quite keen on other Unitframe addons out there.. Too bad I've gotten used to all the tweaks I can do with Pitbull and no addon out there seems to satisfy my specific needs. oUF might be an alternative, but I suck at .lua so I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do half of the things I'd miss from Pitbull.
I was running Pitbull with player, target, tot, focus, focus target. I am using Grid to display raid unit frames.
I disabled Pitbull more than a week ago and deleted the Pitbull configuration file. I also installed ag_UF to replace those unit frames. All freezes have completely disappeared immediately following this change. The problem is 100% gone.
I can recreate the problem again simply by enabling Pitbull, but moving to other unit frame addons definately solves the issue.
I've been annoyed at this bug as well and finally decided to look into it myself. Initially I am trying to throw debug statements at obvious places in an attempt to find a smoking gun. I am hoping at some point when someone dies or goes offline or whatever that I see a flood of messages, but so far nothing.
First place I looked was CreateUnitCluster and DestroyUnitCluster. These are called a lot, but doesn't look like they do a lot of work once the raid is all full.
ClearUnitFrame and PopulateUnitFrame are also called a lot, but in logical places. Every time you click on a new frame or a main tank target clicks on someone, you'll see those fire off. But, unfortunately no spam when someone dies or someone is switching groups.
Next raid I'll try tracking down what happens when you switch groups to find a common denominator. If anyone has investigated this further and wants to share, that would be great. Hopefully I find something soon, but I only do 25-man raiding twice a week where I can really exercise the code.

Might wanna check for a perp in Dogtags aswell, many seem to have less isssues when using none or very simple tags.
Still happening for me. I haven't had much chance to delve into it since last I reported.
My next attack plan is LibDogTag. There is a lot going on in the update function. What I want to find out is what code is called when you join a raid or switch groups. That seems like the simplest way to reproduce the slowdown and might be the easiest way to find the problem.
I need to find a bored guildie, setup a raid of two and debug it that way.
Yesterday I saw ckk added a fix to LibDogtag-3.0 which maybe would address this issue. I got it at once and while I've replaced all dogtag addons (IB-2.0, Cowtip,Parrot) apart from pitbull my performance issues completely went away. I gained about 15 fps from it, so I'm extremely happy. I don't know for sure if it was the fix, or me changing to other addons, but it sure worked. Can't confirm if my freezes are gone yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I know more.
problem of lag from people who joined raid/leave or moved to other groups is gone. But when raid is pulling pack of mobs i got a 1 sec freeze screen. Dont know if it had to do with pitbull or not.
