Update 8/2 2006!
If you want to get mobhealth information, you MUST use Mobhealth3. Everything else won't work, and won't be supported. Mobhealth3 is on the Ace SVN.

Hello! This a brand new unit frame addon, work started on two weeks ago (7/5/06).
The good thing about this unit frame addon is that it's using Ace2, and especially a lot of the functionality in AceOO-2.0. So I've created a unit class, which each unit frame is created from, a cool approach Ace2 allowed me to take.
Secondly, frames/unit objects are created as they're needed, so there are no unused frames sitting in memory.
ag_UnitFrames is currently configurable by a dewdrop menu created using AceOptions, but I am considering creating the menu using dewdrop APIs as there are some layout limitations on AceOptions+dewdrop. It works, but it doesn't look polished. Type /aguf to open the menu or alt+rightclick a frame to configure that type of unit.
The "look" is given to the unit frames by parsing a table(ag_themes.lua) containing a few themes. If you add/remove a theme, the addon will update the dewdrop list itself, it's pretty easy. So I have a few themes, like a PerfectRaid theme, a minigroup theme, raid theme and an oUF theme. You can disable manabars/xpbars as you like.
It is only to be found on the SVN trunk currently. Have fun! Below I have some screenshots to show.
Special thanks to the Ace gurus for bearing over with my newbie questions.
Portrait support? Or a method of adding it to your themes?
Also the Alt+RightClick is actually Alt+Leftclick :p
Comments: Quite good
1. "Virtual Buffs" So you can see how many buffs fit where. Say when the options window is open it fills teh buffs/debuffs up with fakes so you can see how a 100% full buff/debuff bar will look.
Although you may hate me, I can't use it. Im a stickler for my own thing so DUF will alwasy hold my heart. This however could pull me away with a few more options and themes.
hm. can this be made to work with clique, for click-healing?
It already does.
Andreas - any rough timing (nothing to hold you to, by any means) for implementing raid frames? That will be the feature I'll need in before I can switch from MG2 and do some real testing on it. :)
I did play around with it last night (before the exp bar bug was fixed) and it is looking really good so far. I do want to echo the sentiments on the options interface as right now, it does feel somewhat "cumbersome." That isn't the fault of Dewdrop or design or anything of that sort - more a function of the fact that there are a lot of options that have to be provided.
Also, do you want bug reports here? Any thought on getting a portal set up on wowinterface?
I just tried them out and really like them, except for one thing... I would kill to have an option that allows one line of buffs under the unit frame, with debuffs to the right of the health bar (for the party frames).
Also, I tried it out on my warlock so I could check the pet frame. On the pet frame, the text reads "Thallea's minion" instead of the pet's name.

One of the reasons why the configuration dropdown (dewdrop) is so bad compared to the one of, lets say oUF, it that I used AceOptions to create it. Atm that means that I can't control which order options are in, I can't create spaces, headers and so on. So basically it's just a "commandline dropdown", not a real UI. It also seems to be bugged for me, the menus will always open towards the left of the screen, even if there's a lot of space on the right.
I think I will go over to using the dewdrop APIs instead.
Interface\AddOns\ag_UnitFrames\ag_UnitClass.lua:1078: attempt to concatenate local `x' (a nil value)
Feature Request:
- Plz add MobHealth2 and MobInfo-2 Support since both are very popular.
- Portrait support thats NOT bundled with one of the layouts (only 2 options: on/off position left/right/top/down of frame) , but not a 2D Class Picture that eats memory. plz use 3D Portraits like Nurfed has. because this Portraits are a smal copy of yours, yours targets and Party member 3D Head that don“t need extra addon memory since you grapic card needs only to render a second smal version...
PS: it is correct or bug that in current version the raid frames are off by default and even when i enable them i dont get any extra raid frames (had only a 3 man party tranformed to raidgroup to test this...) ?

I know its only an ALPHA, but when you get around to adding more options id like to see.
portrait on/off toggle and dock them to top/bottom/left/right sorta on the current frame style
in each frames config an option to toggle tooltips, they just get in the way visually anyways
there doesnt seem to be any settings to control the "Pet Frame" its not configured under player, or party pet, and there is no pet section that i can see. would like to see an extra section for this.
instead of just auras, id rather see buffs/debuffs split what i mean is for my playerframe i dont need to see the buffs if i dont want them on, but it seems if i turn auras off it doesnt show debuffs either.
ability to place the Combo points at other locations regardless of theme, top, bottom, left, right, vertical, horizontal and anything else that comes to mind.
i dont see any combat status display if im in combat or my pet, or party, hope this is being added soon, id like the default frames status icons to be able to be used somehow for resting/combat :)
God im picky huh?
and BTW this has been more stable than minigroup for me, tho i havent been able to get in a raid with this turned on yet, which is where MG2 gave me problems, im hoping i dont have those with this.
My only thing is the scale starts out really small because I have a large monitor running at 1900x1200. I have my scale set at 1.95 to make it viewable. Might want to start out with just a little bigger frames.

Yes. One of the "todos" is to redesign the layouts to be of a larger scale.

Considering adding portraits, they will probably not be option placable but part of a theme.
I probably forgot to add an entry for the pet menu, you should try to alt+leftclick the pet frame though.
Splitting buffs/debuffs is probably something I am going to work at. Can't say when.
Being able to place the combopoints in any corner with an option probably won't make it. It would most likely conflict with many layout placements of PvP icon, leader icon, etc. If you want to move them, edit the layout...
With minigroup2, there was a option to stick the group together.
The thing i missed was to vertical stick the group, as a vertical layout.
Could that be done with an own theme or could it made be possible?
I place the Group/Raidmembers in the lower left corner of the screen...
It needs raid frames. From what I understand, all the frames are built dynamically anyway, so if you have them disabled, you don't ever deal with them or any performance impact. Based on how AndreasG is setting up the code, it is all class-based programatically, and most likely the addition of the raid frames was very, very easy to implement. Especially since I'm sure AndreasG was rewriting MG2 with how he wanted everything implemented already in mind.
Aside from the aesthetics, just the ability to see all the combat numbers on raid frames makes this addon worth it alone.

Oh, and raid doesn't work yet.
One request so far: I love the class-colouring for frames. If target is a player, could the target frame be coloured to their class?
