Search hasn't been effective, so I'm just going to post.
I'm using pitbull, and everything is pretty much fine. Love the unitframes. Just 1 issue. I get 12 pitbull related UI errors on login, every time. I haven't noticed anything broken, but an error is an error, so I'm just wondering whats going on. Here are the errors:
Recently, ckknight renamed a bunch of the PitBull modules to give them better names. If you were using WAU which unpacks the modules into separate top-level addons, you might still have some of the old ones lying around in your Addons folder. Try deleting all the PitBull folders in your Addons folder and re-installing it.
Is there any way to get status message and status timers separated ? I can get message using Contains (but think it's not very effective), but seems there is no way to cut down only timer ? Is it possible to make something like *Text and *Timer variants for Status tags ?
I found the folders corresponding to the errors. Haven't fired up, but I'm sure that takes care of it. Thanks guys.
I actually did delete every folder and re-install - the issue did seem to be that the older version I'm using came like this, when update with wowaceupdater I guess.
When I update to the most recent, the energy ticker/spark doesn't work anymore, so right now I'm just sticking with what I have.
Havent seen any mention of this, but does anyone have a solution as to why the "Hide Party in Raid" option doesnt seem to work in BGs?It's quite annoying to have the 5 man party frame up along with my personal raid frames.
By bgs do you mean Arenas? Check out the "show 5-man raid as party" option or whatever it's called.
My question: is there a way to position buffs and debuffs even more flexibly? I?d like to have them about ten pixels above their current position (above the frame) and ten pixels more to the right. I even tried it with Visor2 - place each buff slot by hand - but the position resets on reloading the UI.
Did I just miss a feature or isn?t there a way to do this?
I've installed PitBull today, but it seems some things are not working, it refuses to save the imported layouts (between sessions), and it doesn't allow me to choose other layout different than ABF.
Bug or I'm missing something?. I've been looking all over the place and I don't see anything regarding this.
Recently when playing my warrior when I exit a BG or zone in/out of any instance my rage bar is 1/2 full (red) but I have 0 rage, it's not critical but is annoying if I gain any rage it does refresh properly. Also not every time but sometimes it will also show my HP as if I were dead even though I'm at full health same thing as the rage if I lose some health or bandage or of that nature it refreshes properly.
so i don't really raid at the moment, but i do lots of bgs. i find the raid interface is overkill for me, however i would like to mimic the standard interface which shows the people in your group. is there a way to do this? the raid groups are all by number. seems like there should be switch somewhere that uses party for raid (i do see convert 5-man raid to party, but that's not exactly the same). what would be ideal, but perhaps not doable, is to switch between people in your group vs people that are simply near you (selectable number of players maybe up to 10 or something).
Raid frames and the like are able to do the click-targeting through secure templates provided by Blizzard. There are secure templates for party, raid, etc. but I doubt Blizzard will be adding one for "enemies healing my target" anytime soon.
not to beat a dead horse or fill this thread with junk, but would it be possible to predefine targeting macros and associate them with unused actionbuttons and then call those thru secure connections? then it would be a matter of positioning the action button on the screen and activating/deactivating it as appropriate (and adding other information so you know who it is you'd be targeting and why).
the mod would need to periodically update the macros to make sure they were accurate and it could do this out of combat.
I too have some issues with the parent thin (tho it's probably me ;))
I set 4 layers to show up when pitbull party frames are loaded thanks to PitBullCluster1UnitButton1.
It works perfect when I'm making it or when I join a party, but from the moment I reload my UI or log out and log back in the frames are still set to my pitbull parent but are already shown on my screen, in the same style I put them only on a different place.
How do I fix this? ::)
same problem here. the parent function of eePanels has a problem with the cluster frames of pitbull.
the other frames like player, targetoftarget are workin fine.

Action buttons use their own secure template, and their clicks can't be simulated through "secure connections" (since only Blizz code is considered secure). They also can't be moved or enabled/disabled during combat. The general idea is, you can display the information, just not let the user interact with it. Mist is probably right - SCT or some such would be the most convenient way to set up this kind of display.
And this is very, very outside the scope of PitBull. Perhaps you should bring this up in the Ideas/Requests forum if you want to discuss it further.

No, AV specifically (though the others too). I tried the option you mentioned but that had no effect either. I tried reloadui with similar lackluster results.
Just wiped out my Pitbull folders and reinstalled the latest version r43065 and im getting an error in the chatlog saying: There was an error with the layout "nil", preventing the frame for "party2target" to be shown properly.
Interface/Addons/Pitbull/Putbull_Metalayout.lua:987:ChatTextFrameParty2Target_Text:SetPoint(): trying to anchor to itself.
this is in AV (AV weekend =) ) if it makes a difference.

If you enable "hide party in raid", enable the raid frames, and set them not to show in BGs, then you will still see the party frames.
I posted this in the layout thread but it probably belongs here:
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but importing profiles is not working for me. I copy and paste the code into Pitbull, and I get the "profile successfully imported message", but when I select the profile, it looks nothing like the pictures shown. Also, if I do a /reloadui, the profiles disappear completely - the only one available is the default one I'm already using.
I'm using Pitbull version r41673.
Still looking for an answer to this - I'm still having the problem, and as I peruse the thread, I see others are as well.

I am having the same problem here. From what I can tell, and please tell me if I am totally wrong, but it looks like the PitBullCluster(x)UnitFrame(x) frames are not created initially when you login or reload your UI. I was toying with eePanels and tried to change my parent frame when I first logged in only to be told they didnt exist, but if I join a party or enable the party configuration mode within pitbull I can relink the the parent frames in eePanels(manually though as they still appear to be flagged as bad links until the value is changed). After that it works great until I relog/reloadui. Would it be possible to create all the frames at startup(or at least all the frames that are set to be enabled within the options). I think that would would fix the problem assuming I interpreted it all correctly. If I knew Lua better myself I'd attempt to piece that code in there and give it a try, but by the time I did that, it probably could have been fixed by someone else at least 100 times over lol
In the last 6 weeks I have tried various versions of Pitbull with Raid Frames enabled and it seems more often then not it will crash the WOW client -- is this just extremely buggy still or anyone have any suggestions?

One of the features of PitBull's design is that it saves memory by not creating frames until they're needed. Unfortunately, this kinda screws addons like eePanels. Unless you can figure a way to have the eePanels dynamically attach themselves to the frame when it is created.

Tried disabling other Addons besides Pitbull didnt help so i guess its some bug inside Pitbull.
