I' only use ag_uf for target, ToT and the player frame, because using Grid for the raid.
I wanted to know if there were a comparison of CPU cycles from Ag_UF and Pitbull, at this time I use Ag_uf and I try to suppress every addon I have that use my CPU because of too bad framerate. IF I use Pitbull, would my FPS increase or not ?
I've tried to mimic Grid using Raid frames from Pitbull, but it did lag a lot -- i was using my buffs/cleanseable debuffs only, in a 48x48 health only frame for a 25-man raid. Also, i could not manage to put icons inside frame, but this is a different story.
Either way, i came back to ag_UF and grid while raiding.
When I was using Pitbull I had it stripped down to the very basics of PlayerFrame, TargetFrame, ToT, Focus, and PetFrame.
Everything else was disabled or turned off. Whenever I enter a raid larger than 10 gameplay would become jerky and mem usage would increase 3 fold.
It all went away and smooth gameplay came back when I returned to ag_UF.
Pitbull is very nice but it does have some concerning bugs.
Not everyone gets the same problems, its best to test it out for yourself and make up your own mind from that.
I was using ag_UnitFrames and before it minigroup since the beginning of WoW.
Recently I played alot with new addons and also switched from ag to pitbull.
Unfortunately I noticed heavy interface lags in 25 raids, quite annoying as a caster. My frames were down to 15-20 in heavy combats (4800+ Dual Core, 7600GT, 1GB RAM).
After looking into my addons CPU usage I found 3 suspicious candidates: Prat, Cartographer, Pitbull. I removed them all and replaced pitbull with ag_unitframes again.
Guess what... my frames are 25-35 again in heavy combats, no interface lag at all.
I wasn't able to record the CPU usage of the 3 mentioned addons so I can only suppose it was Pitbull that screwed up my gaming experience.
