Just fiddlin' with it and this is what I came up with. Attached is Buu with the auras pushed to the bottom. See the SS for an example of what it looks like. Might help some folks until the layouts get a little more polished. Feel free to fix that Buu.lua file if you see something ugly in it, I am no coder!
Yes, it should take different heights and widths into consideration. I have "scale" enabled and i really like to see the debuffs on a target, and since the layout is so skinny, I only have 5 auras shown per line.
This is what I've been trying to set up using Buu as the starting point, but with my limited knowledge of XML/LUA I've not been able to make it happen.
I can get the basic layout with the ToT and ToTT set but trying to get the Aura's to line out isn't working. Do you think you can help with this maybe (with the BUU's authors permission) we could get a new layout name.
You will be placing the Buu frames (I'm assuming party) vertically then?
I've been using my Party Frames as ABF Layouts without portraits. And yes I stack vertically. As for Raiding I'm not quite there yet as my main is only Lvl 36, but will most likely go with a modified ABF as well. Grouped as such:
Group 1 Group 2
etc... across the bottom of my screen, above my chat frames and action bars
so basically BUU Layout will only be used for Player, Players Pet (@80% scale), and Target. The rest is pretty much ABF.
I've actually thought about using Grid once I do start Raiding
Actually, if all you want is some sane-looking placements for auras, you can just comment out the auraframe code and auraoptions code in the Buu layout. The options and positioning of buffs will then be inherited from ABF, but this actually works out just fine. It's what I'm currently using for my player/pet/target. :)
My initial reason for posting this thread was for a clarification on how to "stick" different anchor points of a layout to other anchor points. I basically just used the method that i think oBF used for sticking buffs/debuffs to the bottom frame. Looked like this:
I THINK (oh god i'm a serious nub, please go easy on me) this is stating "Stick the TOPLEFT point of the auras area to the bottom left of the main frame. Now stick the TOPRIGHT point of the auras area to the bottom right point of the main frame. With the width of the auras frame being the width of the unit frame."
I'm guessing to make your auras (both debuffs and buffs, i dont' know how to separate either yet) stick to the right side by something like this:
