Just a comment - one annoying thing I found last night when setting up Pitbull on my screen...
This is a product of frames having a default height, and then health/mana/etc. bars not having a set height, rather a variable (based on how high the entire frame is). I was setting up frames like party targets, party pets, etc. and I would remove cast bar, mana bar and then be left with this HUGE health bar that I needed to resize. And I almost thought of setting up raid frames, then realized that I would have had to go through the same hoops for those as well. The Buu layout needs a lot of resizing for each type of frame to make it work as well.
I hope that all made sense - not feeling 100% atm. :)
when i Target a friendly, the buffs/debuffs are on the Bottom of the frame like i like.
when i Target a hostile, the debuffs are to the Right of the frame.
how do i make all the buffs on my Target frame no matter the class/hostility be on the Bottom?
I am finding something similar with my buffs. Sometimes they will go to the right of the target frame even though I have them set at the bottom. If I go into the Aura configuration for Target frame and uncheck and recheck Split the frames reset and the buffs go back to the bottom of the frame.
for some reason Layout Positioning or Layout Settings isnt always showing up in my menu. doesnt have anythin to do with being in or out of combat either, i look for it and findit like once in 20 times. i can set it, and go back and it's disappeared immediately. really weird
anyway, iwth this Layout settings option, i moved the debuffs back to the bottom, like i twas before i updated.
If the party/raid/solo configuration dummy auras aren't going to be brought back to appear by default in configuration mode, could there at least be an option to toggle them for each frame?
If a toggle isn't going to be added, would it be possible for me to insert or edit some bit of the code so they'd at least appear on my copy? I'd just use an older version that had the dummy auras enabled, but I don't want to miss out on any of the great things that keep on being added (5 man raids displayed as a party? Handy!)
I tried PitBull yesterday and I really think it's a great addon with easy configuration and everything.
Previously I used ag_UnitFrames with my own layout, but I switched to Nurfed Unitframes because the text in the different layouts got messed up somehow. I'm not sure if it's an SVN problem, but it looks like text wasn't always messed up like that since there are some quite large spaces between some elements.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was any chance or possibility to get this fixed, or help me fix it if it's a client-side problem. I am not sure if I can make my own layout for PitBull yet, but if I can, I'd like to :)
I love these unit frames, although I've had some trouble with them.
1. Ghost frames - Although I have raid/raidtarget/focus/focustarget/pet/pettarget/partypet/partypettargets... etc... all hidden, and they are indeed not visual, there is a ghost type frame that when i click where that frame would be if it were shown, it acts like it's there. I often accidentally am switching my target in bgs and arenas, which is getting really annoying.
2. Raid frames - totally unusable as they show up all stacked on top of each other and cannot move them.
3. Mouse function - When I am in a raid, especially arena or bg, none of my mouse button's work. I cannot left click, right click, middle click, or use either of my thumb buttons, while in a raid.
I used ag before and did not have any of these problems and I've narrowed these down to pitbull by disabling all other mods installed. I really, really like these unitframes and they are coming together quite nice!! Keep it up! If anyone has any ideas on these problems let me know.
Quick Question I wanted to ask. I appologize in advanced if this is somewhere that I have not looked yet. I love the addon, just installed it yesterday and I am liking it a lot. One thing I need to know is, how do I add an experience bar to my player frame? Its kind of annoying not having one while I am leveling my alt, so yeah just asking :)
I like PitBull so far. But I see a problem in it. I think there's wasted space..
What I mean is there are elements on the frames which aren't being used to their potential. The addon seems to want to color the health bar for everything, from class to reaction. I know this can be turned off, but for those of us who want the display of such things without using the health bar or Dog Tags, we're sort of stuck.
I think if PitBull made use of the frame's border for the display of things like class color, difficulty and especially for pet happiness and aggro alers (although I realize PitBull_Banzai isn't part of the default addon) it would help a lot. Right now, the borders are sitting there doing absolutely nothing when they could be adding very useful warnings to the frame instead of wasting the health bar color, which is better to leave untouched as some people prefer to see it fade in color as health depletes.
Just a thought. It would make this addon user very happy to see aggro coloring and pet happiness on his frames' borders.
I don't know if this is a bug or not (you may be able to disable it from the options) but in addition to having my buffs / debuffs around my player frame they also still appear in default Blizzard UI position (top right). Is there a way to fix this? The only solution I have found is DLing a buff mod (Buffalo) and just hiding buffs / debuffs just so that it hides the Blizzard UI ones.
I set up a bunch of options for PitBull in the Default profile.
went to an alt, changed to use the Character's profile
then told it to Copy From Default profile and got this error:
PitBull-r32699\Portrait\Portrait.lua:90: attempt to call method 'SetTexCoord' (a nil value)
and then most of the unitframes went blank/weirdcolors. i did a ui reload and things SEEM to work now, and have the same settings that I wanted copied over from the Default profile. just wanted to let you know about this bug :)
Using Color health by class does nothing for pets (party pets and raid pets, maybe player pet too), maybe it could color them the same color as their owner ? (purple for warlock pets, green for hunter pets, blue for mage pets etc...)
I skimmed the 20 or so pages of this thread looking for an answer to my following question. If I missed the answer, forgive me.
Is there a way to give frames identifiable names? I have a click casting add-on and I want to be able to right-click a hostile focus frame and polymorph it. I don't want to override all the other unit frames though because I like the default menu that shows on right click. I don't care about any menu for the focus frame though, so this would be handy to re-sheep without losing target.
I saw that PitBull creates and recycles unit frames, so this may not be possible.
Just switched from aguf to Pitbull and like this one really.
One short question, i hope anyone can answer me:
With aguf i had in raids only 1 frame (groupfilter: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and this frame was sorted by class. I loved this because of having always a great quick overview of the raid.
It looked like this:
Is there any chance for me, to implement this in Pitbull?
