I was curious after reading somewheres that AG is using Pitbull now, is AGUF going to continue to be in active development? The new patch is adding some nice UI features such as timers on debuffs and buffs on your target (if I read it correctly!), and I'd like to see these added. I've nothing against Pitbull, but it's in major alpha stage at the moment and I don't update my addons more than once a month or so anymore, so pre-release addons are very time consuming.
Im also confused about this. I know PitBull will be a wonderful addon but it is in a very very early stage and I would like to continue using agUF if its going to keep being developed
I switched to pitbull a few days ago because I was getting bugs with aguf when in a party. In the past obvious bugs like that one that throws an error would be fixed very quickly, but with the error being around for many days I decided to switch to pitbull that actually sees updates frequently. (Also thinking of the rapid maturing cartographer has seen I'm sure pitbull will follow a comparable trajectory).
I was under the assumption that aguf was getting less attention and hence bugs were lingering...
BTW the bug I'm talking about is reported a few times in other threads. Haven't seen a reaction yet.
I never had persistent bugs with aguf, but it did appear to have changed recently.
Anyway, I'm very happy with pitbull in it's current state. The config mode for example is already a step up from aguf. It lacks some goodies that aguf had (xp bar being the only one I really miss currently).
Here are two threads that report the kinds of problems I have been seeing for a week before I finally decided to try Pitbull and notice that it's already running well. I actually checked the forum to see if my problems were reported and they were, there just wouldn't be a reaction or an update via wau 1.7. Aguf hasn't been updated since 4/3. Earlier we'd see much more frequent updates, often on the same day a bug got reported.
In both threads people report that the problem persists and there isn't even a reaction... it basically reflects the feel I got a week ago and hence why people are asking what the aguf status is.
Don't get me wrong, addon maintenance is a lot of work and it's fine that bugs are around and stuff. Addons are a goodie for us and nothing else :D. This is mostly to explain why people wonder about the status of aguf or switch to pitbull already.
What's wrong with ag_uf? It's still plenty usable in its current state.

I don't think andreasg is using PitBull for raiding yet, he's just trying it out like the rest of us.
