We had some requests in our guild to make it so that grid would show guildmembers in a special way, certain persons in our guild like to give preferential healing treatment to guildmembers if you can believe it!  As such one of our guildmates, Krulguk made a new module that adds guild status to the grid frame.  Basically it detects the guild of the player and matches that guildname with other members of the raid.

In the pic I've set members of my guild to have an orange border.

The only issue with it appears to be range.  Grid won't show guildmate status for guildmates that are out of range...once they are in range they will update.

You will need to add the name of it to the .toc

Hope all this made sense!  I told Krulguk I was going to post this here for him, so he's not unaware of what I've done.  Also if anyone has any suggestions etc I can let him know.  Thanks!

Very interesting. I think I will try this out as I prefer to
help guildmembers in Battlegrounds, even if it's less efficient
at times.

Step1: copy GridStatusGuildmate.lua to you <Drive:\>World of Warcraft\Interface\Grid directory

Step2: Modify Grid.toc and add GridStatusGuildmate.lua

In your picture you have "I'm assuming" out of range people. How do you make is so transparent? thanks in advanced

I'm sorry, the version above is a bit old and using the old rosterlib.

As far as making my out of range people so transparent, I changed my out of range coloration to be more transparent and then applied that to healthbars.
