Is it possible for one to write a bigwigs module that only affected the behaviour of bigwigs for one boss? I.e. replace the code for a boss that is included with the standard install. Actually I want to just modify a couple of functions for one boss.
Also how does one go about testing the boss module without actually being in the raid for real? I.e. simulate boss emotes to enable certain states.
I skimmed it, got as far as Russian translation and obviously in error assumed that as i use the english version it was a different error. Sorry for wasting your time.

It's no problem, was a bad day for me, thanks for reporting it.
I've recently noticed a few encounters end with multiple defeated messages and victory sound triggering. Should I keep track of this and report per boss, or maybe someone out of date is triggering the events x2? Small annoyance but it does not occur all the time.
when i enable bigwigs (left-click the MMB) i get this error on the beta test...
[2008/09/08 04:14:09-85-x14]: Interface\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:2225: bad argument #1 to 'strsub' (string expected, got nil):

Interface\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:2077: in function `ChatFrame_OnEvent':
<string>:"*:OnEvent":1: in function <[string "*:OnEvent"]:1>
... also my chatlog nolonger works and stays that way until i disable the (ctrl+alt+leftclick) the MMB.
i got a few problems with the version check. The window displaying who has bigwigs is nice (especially the coloring for outdated versions). Would it be possible to add:
a textual output of the window information to the chat tab
the members that haven't responded to the big-wigs version check? (hand matching 30 people is no fun)
Pptions similar to omen2 with show outdated party members (in chat) / whisper outdated party members would help a lot.
The last time I updated BigWigs, I can't remember if it was Monday, or Sunday, but my bars, proximity, etc etc have all disappeared. If I go to the BigWigs config, there are zero plugins / extras.
How do I get all my stuff back? I tried to do a reinstall through the updater, as well as delete the folders for BigWigs manually, and the associated .lua's in my WTF folder, and then reinstalling.

Is there a way to detect as a pure BigWigs User that those missing BigWigs are using DBM ?
I could imagine that you can get those people via addonspamfu . DBM sends data to the hidden addoncommchannels, so you should be able to see them there
AddonSpamFu, or any other addon that tracks and displays information about addon communication messages could tell you who's using DBM. That kind of functionality ("what addons are other people using?") doesn't belong in BigWigs, though.

Anyone have any answers as to why this happened? It is also occurring on my laptop now, which I updated today, for the first time in over a month.

In the last revision the Russian translation team added a stray ] which causes a traceback.
This line (340):
["Wave %d! %d %s, %d %s"] = "Волна %d! %d %s, %d %s"], --2 sets of mobs
needs to be:
["Wave %d! %d %s, %d %s"] = "Волна %d! %d %s, %d %s", --2 sets of mobs
Did you actually bother to read 2 posts up or?

Just wondering if there is a way to force it to come up once combat has started.

any idea if this will be fixed?
it is already there, if you are leader/assistant there is a clickable text to inform outdated party members ;)
ok ;)
What about raid members not having it at all?
