I argued against an option to allow broadcasted messages to not be filtered,
but I'm afraid I have to eat my words.
I've had to revert to hand-made announcing macros and eventually just give assist to a raid member with DBM because my raid was complaining that they get no raid warning messages about Stinky and Precious abilities (mortal wounds, decimate etc).
It was very frustrating to not have a way to see what I'm broadcasting and the raid is seeing (or not seeing) due to a filter that's on by default and no way to toggle.
Btw shouldn't line 34 in BigWigs_Plugins\Broadcast.lua read
elseif inRaid and not (IsRaidLeader() or IsRaidOfficer()) then
instead of
elseif inRaid and not IsRaidLeader() and not IsRaidOfficer() then
that it is now?
Edit:
I may have to eat them again if there is an option to allow me to see what I'm broadcasting in the channel I'm broadcasting it to.
Had something weird happen during Malygos yesterday. It was our weekly raid quest, and obviously, we overgear the encounter. We happened to trigger P2 while we were in the air (vortex) and Big Wigs started spamming "Phase 2 soon" non-stop. I had to click on it to reset the module to make it stop. It then picked up from there without any issue.
Not sure if it's because of the vortex, or his health going down too fast... etc, but there's a set of circumstances here where "Phase 2 soon" ends up getting spammed non-stop.
@Shadoweric, hmm should be fixed now, was caused due to a change that made the warning work int he first place.
@Dridzt, probably not the solution you're looking for, but you can right click your bigwigs icon and it will hop directly to the active boss, showing the abilities. In this case, Mortal Wound only. It will warn when the stacks reach critical count to prevent spam. Basically, anything you see in those options is what you're warning for.

My biggest issue with Ace3 BigWigs as well and what almost caused the whole guild here to move back to DBM.
But a (inelegant) way around the issue discovered a while ago: delete \BigWigs_Plugins\BossBlock.lua. That will remove the hard block put on you seeing your own broadcasts.
There's an option to disable Bossblock. It was added shortly after the discussion about it in this thread a few months ago. Click Show Addon Warnings in BigWigs' main option screen.
Well waddaya know. That option actually now works to allow you to see your own broadcasts without having to delete bossblock.lua.
Not sure how soon after the discussion the option was added/adjusted to allow that (it wasn't for a while and have no memories of any changelogs mentioning it), but at least it works now.
I would like to make the transition to Big Wigs, but I am having critically important problems that I do not have the luxury of working through during LK attempts. Maybe experienced users can answer these questions:
1. Sounds are going to be critically important for me... I am a healer and therefore can get tunnel vision. The sound that requires me to move out of fire, or other warning sounds that require immediate movement because I have a spell being cast on me or a proximity explosion or WHATEVER that requires me to MOVE RIGHT NOW... in DBM usually the drums or the "Run Away Little Girl" sound......... Which one is it in Big Wigs? Is it Alarm, Alert, Info, or Long?!
This sound must be consistent and easily identifiable to me.
2. Ok the test is worthless, because it just uses random spells I cast. That doesn't tell me WHICH sound is associated with the "move right now" sound. Is there any way of getting a serious test of Big Wigs settings externally to a raid situation?
3. Now the whole color scheme... What is considered important? Is Defile "Important"? Is Defile when it's cast on me "Personal"? Which color controls the "move right now or you will die" scenario? Is there any way of turning on a feature in the Big Wigs Encounters to know when, for example, I'm changing the Conjured Empowered Flame in Blood Prince Council if that's considered Important, Personal, Urgent, or Attention. I mean... wtf is the difference between Important or Urgent or Attention?? Besides that they are roughly synonyms...
I've been having a strange issue with bigwigs sounds between the two characters i raid with. My paladin only allows me to only choose from the basic bigwigs sounds for alert/alarm/etc., while with my shaman i can alter the sounds to choices such as horde bell, alliance bell, gong, and a few others that for some reason my paladin does not have access to.

Does the shammy have sharedmedia active and the paladin not?

If sharedmedia is a bigwigs setting, I do not see it and if it is a separate mod I do not have one by that name on any character. I am currently using bigwigs alpha release 7471, if this helps any.

SharedMedia (SharedMedia/SharedMediaLib/LibSharedMedia-2.0/LibSharedMedia-2.0 are some of variations out there) is a "extra" addon that gives a LOT of addons acess to additional sounds/textures/fonts.
In the Sindragosa encounter (normal-25) the 5 frost beacon targets weren't being marked with their raid icons. Up until the 7471 version, they had been being marked. I looked over the settings, and could not see any that had changed (the raid icons and broadcast boxes were still checked), and I was raid leader. Was there a change in the 7471 version, or is there something that changed?

They were never marked and there is no such setting for the sindragosa encounter.
Got this error tonight on Blood Queen in 25-man normal, with r7484 (which is several revisions out of date, but none of the subsequent changes affect any of the files named in the error message).

I didn't notice until after the fight, so I'm not sure when exactly it occurred. I did notice that there was no Air Phase timer at some point during the fight, though.
Decided to give the (controversial) tips.lua a try. The Output to chat frame option doesn't work. The Tips window pops up in the middle of the screen upon entering a raid whether or not that option is checkmarked. As well, the tip text is not output to chat.
