Yes, I've taken a look at both addons and the model will be similar to both of these waitlist addons. I noticed there are a lot of interesting configuration options in those addons. However, some of them will not make it in the initial revision for HeadCount to keep things as stable as possible for users since this is a major feature addition.
Once it gets in the addon, if there is enough interest in additional revisions to waitlist management, it can be added in.
If added, I would like to keep it generic (include attendees, bosskills, and loot distributed), but one question. Is there a specific need for indentation or would newlines (paragraph separation) work as well?
to my understanding, the only way to track automatically if players outside of a raid go offline or online is if they are on your friends list and you receive the notifications.
I know via the interface options (Guild Member Alert under Social), a notification can be displayed for guild members as well. I don't know if this is different then the friends list notifications. If this can be used I think it would be a reasonable solution as it is not going to be very often that non-guild members that are being tracked for standby.
If it's not easily possible, it's not a major issue request. But, it would be nice!
BTW, your addon (and its xml output) has inspired me to brush up and practice my php skills by writing a new web management system. EQDKP is too clunky for the way my guild does points (specifically the way it does multipart (hourly) raids.) :)

something like this
player - timeIn - timeOut - ...
-loot-, boss, type?
or even yet, in the CVS export, add the loot in there too.
Reason being that we track attendance and loot in a google spreadsheet and i just need an easy / simple way of exporting the data out of wow and into the spreadsheet.
New release version is out for those with interest.
Version 1.4.4
* Added loot information to CSV export format.
* Fixed loot name reference in CSV export format.
* Added loot listing to member information section.
* Added plain text export format string.
* Converted all locale strings to have literal values.
* Fixed stack overflow issue relating to automatic group selection.
* Fixed zone name for Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj (Spanish).
* Fixed zone name for Tempest Keep (Spanish).
* Fixed false key issue in resource bundles.
* Added Spanish localization.
* Fixed Death Knight label in loot management popup frame.
* Fixed localized class names mistakenly being used for internal comparison.
* Removed duplicate Merithra of the Dream resource bundle key.
Notable additions:
1. Spanish localization. Please report issues using the WoW Spanish client if you find any. Thanks.
2. Member information frame now lists loot that player received for the given raid so you can drill down to see what an individual member received so far.
3. CSV format now has a loot value added with internal structure (loot, cost;)
Something new I want to see:
- An option to include people on sitout (G6-G8 ) to be included in each boss kill.
- A away to manually add people to a boss kill (sometimes people leave during a raid while they are on sitout).
- Being able to export a boss during the raid (and only export that boss). This way I can update DKP during the raid without exporting the whole raid.
This will fix some manual work afterwards when doing DKP :-)
I had some problem after install headcount. As my raid start. I'm unable to move people to groups other than G1~G5. I was in a 25 man group while I got that problem, and I'm not in combat. After I turn off headcount. Everything works fine. Just wondering if there is any option to stop block me on those action.

No, there is no functionality in HeadCount to prevent raid leaders or assistants from switching players into different party groups. I just ran a few raids tonight and had no issues switching party members into any group.
There was a problem with automatic group selection in 1.3.9 that may have caused an overflow issue which would affect many things in game, but this should be fixed in the most recent 1.4.4 version. If you are using 1.4.4, turn off automatic group selection and see if that solves the issue.
On my first raid with headcount it didn't happen. But the day after something went wrong. I can not move people to G6 anymore. Two new addon that I install during last few days is headcount and altoholic. I turn off headcount after I met that problem. Everthing back to normal. So I have no idea what's going on there.
First things first, your UI design is wonderful, a much cleaner and nicer looking display of information than CT Raid Tracker. However you have functionality that is missing that causes this mod to be somewhat under useable for something like DKP tracking.
Unfortunately I am not in front of your mod at this point so it's possible that the information I provide here may not be entirely accurate, I'd be happy to be corrected.
A couple things I see this mod does not do that CTRT does do...
1) As far as I can find you have no place to set a global note for a raid. This is akin to the Right Click / Edit Note functionality of CTRT when right clicking on a raid name.
2) Loot Cost is also not an option. This is the same as right clicking a piece of loot and selecting "edit cost" in CTRT...eqdkp and other DKP mods have the ability to parse this field to allow upload of DKP costs at the time of loot bidding.
3) Set Disenchanted/Bank - Another potentially missing option is the ability to set an item picked up by a "master looter" as either disenchanted or held for the guild bank. Along with this is the ability to xfer items to a different looter (in the case where a raid member accidentally has auto loot on or shift/clicks a mob and picks up a BoE item from the raid boss then hands it to the winner.)
4) Possibly one of the biggest flaws I've found with this app is it's mis-detection of a new raid start. If you happen to get disconnected while tracking a raid (which is happening alot these days) when you log back in a new raid is created and started. I also don't remember a way to immediately "end" an old raid and begin a new raid....for those cases where you finish one raid zone for the night and move to a new raid zone.
Your mod is preferable to CTRT due simply to the expanded export options and the significantly better look and feel, however in it's present format it doesn't support at least some of the needed items to allow for DKP systems to properly import information, as well as being unable to continue a raid beyond a reboot/disconnect/character switch, etc.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully at some point you can get this tracker to support most of the functionality of CT RT, I would be more than happy to switch out when that happens.
1. You could be right, but this isnt any functionality I have needed so dont miss it.
2/3. Not sure what you mean. When a piece of loot is looted, a popup box appears, which has :
Looted by:
Loot source:
Loot cost:
Loot note:
Fields. You can set the cost of the item in the Loot cost: field and this gets uploaded in the export. Admittedly it isnt auto-filled in, which would be nice, but I can live with entering costs manually - something to do when the next piece of loot is being handled.
Next to the Looted by: field are 3 icons. The first sets the item to 'Bank', the second to 'Disenchanted'
It could be you dont have the popups enabled - /hc loot popup will toggle that.
You can also /hc gui, select the raid, click the 'View Raid Loot' button, then click the text icon for 'Manage Loot' which will also bring up the popup.
4. I dont remember that happening, but I dont DC mid raid that often. However, if you type : /hc gui
The main headcount window has at the top a list of raids it has stored, and above that next to the 'Raid history' text is two icons. The first ends the current active raid. If you are in a raid zone, it will start another raid for the new zone immediately.
Does anyone know how Headcount handles a situation where for example the raid has killed two bosses during a raid lasting one hour.
Player A was with the raid on the first boss, but not on the second.
Player B was with the raid on the second boss, but not the first.
And Player C was in the raid the whole time.
When exporting this raid, what players will be in the log?
I am pretty sure that Player C will be there, but what about A and B?

1. There is a work ticket open to make a global note for a given raid. Other features have greater priority at this time since adding a raid-level note has no major impact on export right now.
2. Modifying the loot cost has been available for awhile. This was included in the addon since Version 1.0.3 (May 8, 2008). Users may modify the loot cost by working with loot management in the loot panel or by enabling the loot management popup configuration option. The loot management popup configuration opens a user interface window whenever a piece of loot is distributed so users can change specific loot data as it is tracked (player who received the looter, boss/trash mob that the item was looted from, loot cost, and a short loot note). The popup is a convenience option. Users can still go back and manage tracked pieces of loot at any time by using the loot screen.
3. Users can set a piece of loot to "Disenchanted" or "Bank" via the loot management frame again. The looter can be set to another player or to disenchanted or bank via the drop down menu. Convenience button icons are also present next to the form field to change to looter to "Disenchanted" or "Bank" with one click. The ability to set looter to "Disenchanted" or "Bank" has been present since HeadCount 1.1.0 (June 22, 2008).
4. If you get disconnected/crash via a crashed raid and reconnect, the mod will attempt to recover from the most recent tracked raid if it has not been finalized. If a raid has started, the user crashes, and returns, the old tracked data will not be automatically saved. This is a saved variables flush issue by Blizzard as discussed in a few posts previously in the thread. Saved variables are only saved during log off/quitting of the game/reloading of the UI. If a hard crash occurs, all addon data for that particular session will be lost. This issue applies to all addons. I have reloaded the UI, logged off, closed my WoW client and returned to the same character and recovered to track the existing raid.
Starting a raid, logging off to switch to another character, and then returning back to the original character will finalize a raid because when you switch to the alternate character you are not in a raid group anymore. Functionality could be added to define player profiles or additionally check raids based on the original addon owner player name, but this is not a major priority at this time.
As an example of the recovery system, start a tracked raid and then type: "/rl" or "/reloadui" in the console. The previously tracked raid will continue.
Any feature suggestions can be added as tickets on the project page:

Any player that joins the raid will be tracked as a player. Boss attendees are tracked based on the players that were present in the raid list party groups at the time of the boss kill. Schwick, another user who posted previously in this thread, suggested a new configuration option to optionally decide to add any players on the waitlist automatically to the boss attendee list. It is something I am looking at adding for an upcoming release.
You can review which members were present for a boss kill by viewing the boss kill display frame and clicking on the boss. It will switch to another screen showing which specific players were in attendance for that respective boss kill. Attendees for a boss kill are tracked separately from raid players as a whole. Consider boss attendees a subset of all players tracked for the given raid.
I'm not sure what export format you are using, so I can't comment appropriately. In general, any player that is tracked in the raid will be in the export string as a player. Any export format that includes boss kills with attendees will list in addition the specific subset of boss kill attendee players as well.
On my first raid with headcount it didn't happen. But the day after something went wrong. I can not move people to G6 anymore. Two new addon that I install during last few days is headcount and altoholic. I turn off headcount after I met that problem. Everthing back to normal. So I have no idea what's going on there.
No idea, I'm unable to reproduce this problem, both with the automatic group selection enabled and disabled. The latest version was released a few days ago (1.4.4), so based on your most recent message, I am unsure if you are using the most recent or not, so verify if you have updated to the latest version of all your addons.
From a user interface perspective, the main frame parent is the "UIParent" which most standalone addons use. FubarPlugin is used to automatically setup the minimap button. HeadCount has no hooks into the raid party group frames to change its default functionality.
I should of course have mentioned that I am exporting to EQDKP Plus, which is causing me some trouble, as it only has 1 list for who attended a raid when exporting to it.
This means that in a raid that lasted the whole evening, if someone was only in for one or two bosses, I've experienced them not being exported.
Do you have any ideas for how to solve this, except for ending each raid after a boss and starting a new one?

The EQdkp CTRT export format string should work with both EQdkp and EQdkp Plus. Both web applications can support the EQdkp CTRT Import Plugin which is required to import the export string data into the EQdkp supported database.
There are two ways to manage recording specific events per boss per raids. One, as you mentioned, is to create a new raid after each boss, but this is rather tedious. A better way is to manage the EQdkp web site configuration settings for the CTRT Import Plugin. Using the plugin, you can configure raid events and boss events. By configure boss events (adding a trigger for each boss), you can import a string data string and the EQdkp plugin will automatically break up the raid into a set of individual raids (one per each boss kill that is configured).
The latter method would be more preferably since you just need to setup the boss triggers in the web site once, then it will work consistently for all imports from then on.
Administration Panel -> Configure (CTRT Import)
Event Triggers can be created to relate zone names in the string to EQdkp event names (Naxxramas -> Naxxramas, Vault of Archevon -> Vault of Archevon, The Obsidian Sanctum -> The Obsidian Sanctum, etc.).
Raid Note Triggers can be used for bosses if I recall correctly (Gluth -> Gluth, The Four Horsemen, Patchwerk, Sartharion, etc.)
Aliases can be configured to automatically give credit to a player's main character if they attended the raid as an alt (AltName -> MainName)
Once the plugin is configured, it should relieve you of a lot of manual steps.
