To build on my last response to this, it seems there is a DataBroker display addon to show plugins as minimap buttons. It's called Barrel; youu can get it on files.wowace.com, or read more about it in the following thread: http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=14487.0
Back again to the (2^31-1 %) bug. I sometimes had "(-- %)" displayed on some actions, it was always when something happened after somebody was already dead, for expample when somebody was at 500/8000 HP, got 2k damage and was healed after that. I guess that could be a problem with the combat log latency, but nothing which needs to be fixed, it still shows everything interesting.
I was just in Zul'Aman and one tank had many disconnects, so we died many times.
When we finished, 3 group members had all their death reports filled with "(2^31-1 %), while the other 7 members had normal reports.
I noticed that I wasn't able to select the names from the 3 "bad" members from the dropdown menu in the Acheron GUI (yes, all 10 where still in group). The other 7 members showed up and one entry called "unknown", which showed nothing when I selected it.
I was however able to right-click on a unit frame and see the death reports all group members this way.
I don't know what made the 3 "bad" member entries special, they all were in the group all the time. Even the death reports for our tank who had the disconnects were fine.
Was it? I know that Blizzard added the ability to see the health of NPCs, but I didn't realize that they started updating the health faster. Is that the case?
since the forum change over though this doesnt work..
So, is there any plans to allow for a chronological death order in an encounter (or is it already in and I am missing how you access it..). I guessed I would be looking for a list of the boss encounters done in the night, click the encounter, it then shows who died in what order and if you click the persons name it then shows you what heals/damage/buffs etc like it does now (would have been handy for example last night with the people I was in MH with doing Archimonde so I knew who was noobing up more often than not etc..
(apologies for asking if this is already implemented somewhere, pointers of where to look would be great :) )
It's not in yet, but that's still definitely on my to do list. Most of my attention has been on DebuffEnough lately, so I haven't had time to add new features to Acheron. And I can't honestly say I'll have any time or inclination to do addon development for the next couple of weeks. ;) But once the initial xpac excitement is over, this is something I plan to put in.
I'm not currently raiding, but since I'm in charge of keeping my boyfriend's addons updated, I'm trying to get him to use as many of the same addons as me (i.e. Acheron instead of Grim Reaper). However, he's experiencing some issues with 1.0.4 (latest version on WoWInterface as of right now):
1. After a wipe, only 13 of 25 raid members were listed in Acheron. He hadn't released, so all of their deaths should have shown up in his combat log. I know there were some issues with this a while back, but since I haven't been raiding at all, I don't know if they were ever resolved, or if there's any kind of workaround.
2. After the raid, he wanted to go back and review deaths, but people who'd left the raid group were no longer listed in Acheron. (He was still in the raid group.) I think this is probably intentional, but would it be possible to not immediately purge people who leave the raid group?

Dang, I thought I had fixed that one. I'll put it back on the todo list.

Yep, this will be on my todo list as well. You're right, it's intentional, but probably a better option is to provide more manual clearing options instead.
With regard to purging data, I'd say just keep it until the user either logs out (at which time it's all deleted) or joins a new group (at which time the user is promted to delete) or uses a manual command to delete. Playing two feet away from someone who just wants addons to work as expected, and doesn't really care why when they don't, has given me a whole new perspective on addon development. Require too much user input and it's "why can't this just do ____ on its own?". Do too much without asking for user confirmation and it's "#$%#@ing addon just deleted all my stuff!". :p
Call me stupid, but I simply cannot figure out how to report the log to any chat. There is this option where to report to but I can't find the button to actually DO it.
Otherwise the mod is perfect and I love it's clean display.
I believe you report by selecting a channel to report to, and then clicking on an entry in the log; that entry will be used as the starting point, and everything from it to the death will be reported.
It is a bit unintuitive though. A tooltip on something (the output dropdown, maybe?) that explained this might help. Also, I'd suggest either resetting the output to "none" after reporting, or moving the report function from "left-click" to an entry in a right-click menu, or a modified click of some sort, to prevent accidental reports. Or move it to a separate button labeled "Report from selected entry". :)

It will show something like "Debuffx4", it would be easier to read if it was something like "Debuff x4" or "Debuff (4x)".
