Tracking the loot source mob is an enormous pain with the current state of the API.
I know it is :P
You didn't really provide any solution, the problem here is twofold; (1) the seemingly random method in which loot is assigned, which I explained above, and (2) that I do not know what people need, or how they want loot assigned.
Now, I can make the changes I suggested above, but that won't change any of the output formatters. I have no idea how eqdkp or ANY of the other DKP systems work, or what kind of input they expect.
I'm not sure how much more reliable it would be, but maybe it would be possible to assume all loot is from the last boss until someone in the raid enters combat again.
That is a pretty good idea. It's very rare that you enter combat until loot is distributed from Kara upwards except for maybe ZA due to the timed chests that are usually looted at the end of the timer.
Another option that could help with both issues is the ability to manually assign a drop to an attendance check. For example if a trash item drops, and for some reason it gets assigned to the trash mob's name instead of the zone, I could just right click it and assign it to the raid/attendance split of my choice.
The way I did it was if you are ML then the mod records the item and target (ie loot[item]=target) at loot time. If not ML then I rely on saving the lastboss and lastmob killed and if they are the same then it is boss loot. But no method is perfect unfortunately.
Is there a way to get NRT to not include anyone in the raid group for attendance? (IE: Possibly adding a 0 setting under which groups to include) I really just want to use NRT for standby DKP purposes. I use CT_RaidTracker and have for a long long long time. I really like the way NRT handles loot and Standby, just not regular attendnace. Plus i'm a set in my ways. lol. If there is anyway to do this, i'd really appriciate it. Thanks again for the awesome mod.
