Any chance the mod could check for feign death before reporting a tank death, it reports Hunters set as main assist as dead if they feign, I raised a ticket about this issue also.
oRA2 (along with BigWigs, but I don't really mind DBM) is my lastt Ace2 addon. Are there any plans to move it to Ace3, or are there any alternatives?
I've yet to see any alternatives *sigh*
And I'm in the same boat re. Ace2.
oRA3 is registered as a project, but atm it's inactive. I'm gonna check the SVN for anything there, but I suspect nil.
Can we please just get a "Yes, we're working on migrating", "No, gtfo with the Ace2 h8'ing. Load your 1mb and like it" or perhaps even "The Collective does not deem you worthy of information as of yet" ;)
Users need to quit being so concerned with the inner workings of addons and libraries. Is your machine so ancient that running "omg an ace2 addon" is causing any actual problems? If not, you have nothing to complain about. Either use the addon, or write your own if you don't like it.
thats what im gona do, well my own raid assist based on ora2 with a lot less stuff just tank windows, and a few small features. most cause the readycheck window pop drives me nuts.

What will be the difference between the two? I expect oRA3 to be a complete port and Langoustine to be a minimalistic version of it?
Based on the description on the Langoustine project page, it will be a "lite" version without any features that depend on syncing, such as durability/item/resistance checks or voting. If you need those features, you'll want to use oRA3.
- Durability, Resistance checks, both available to everyone in the raid and no need for manual checks
- Readycheck window for both lead and officer, people in groups outside the zone limit are shown below a divider bar in the window
- Invite zone/guild options, including keyword invite
- Autopromote to raid assistant for everyone in guild, every guildmember in zone, by guild rank, and individual members
- Cooldowns for every class (max level) tracked, and you get to decide which ones to show
- Minimalistic resurrection monitor, just displays a text next to the mouse if you're hovering over a dead person that is already being ressed
- Sortable maintanks, oRA3 will provide a custom sorted MT list based on your preferences, that UFs can display
- Zone/Version checks
All options are contained in a neat sliding panel from the Raidframe (thanks Cladhaire for letting me use the base :))
It will not contain:
- Item checks, pretty much useless nowadays and too intrusive
- MT/PT frames, plenty of UFs out there that can do a lot better job, we just provide the info.
The whole deal is pretty much alpha atm and in heavy flux.

So people who choose to not use a unitframe mod are out of luck if they want tank frames? Seems a bit odd.
I think there are enough frame mods out that provide the MT/PT function, and many that don't alter the base UI for those that prefer it over something such as OUF, AGUF, Perl, etc.
It would be nice to see an option to check the version of other addons, such as DBM (although this might be better placed in something such as bigwigs?) since the version info is broadcast in the addon channel by all the addons, it probably wouldn't be difficult to collect the version info and keep a list of it
I'm using oRA2 exclusively for the tank frames so I'm hoping one of the alternatives
will keep providing them without forcing me to seek custom UFs.
I'm using sRaidFrames and oRA2 currently for raidframes/tank frames respectively
and I'm quite pleased with the combo.
(I always have the option to stick with oRA2 anyway I guess till attrition breaks it)
Using the exact same setup and I'm very pleased with how it works right now. If oRA3 discontinues MT/PT frame functionality, then I guess I shall have to look at Langoustine or other alternatives.
Doesn't SRF support MT/PT frames as well as raid/party?
sraidframes does not, unless there's some way of doing some extremely custom sets.
oRA2's MT/PT frames are one of the nicest features it has, shame to see it abandoned. I don't know of any PT frame addons off the top of my head. Most of the MT frame addons I've seen can't be broadcast to the rest of the raid.
Thanks

oRA3 up now, looking forward to test it.

Are you planning on writing a custom addon for people that use the blizzard UF but still want to see main tanks / player targets?
sraidframes does not, unless there's some way of doing some extremely custom sets.

Why do you need to broadcast anything about MTs when anyone in the raid can get that information locally?
