I've not seen this mentioned anywhere so thought I'd check: is there a way to hide omen out of combat automatically vs always clicking the 'Toggle Omen' option? I do use active when solo + w/ pets options and I've already tried checking 'display -> always show omen' and it doesn't seem to affect anything other than just permanently hiding omen...
I'm assuming that I'm just being dumb and overlooking the option- if not then there is my request/suggestion :D
This issue has been going on for months now. I haven't reported it here since I wasn't sure Omen was the offender :). Here's the problem.
First Screenshot: This is my Omen display. I have it show the Top 10 on the meter.
So far so good.
Second Screenshot: When Omen is idle (no threat bars shown, in and out of combat), Omen still thinks there's a bar present. This screenshot shows me with nothing targetted (I believe I was out of combat at the time), and right-clicking in my Interface. There should be nothing present where I was right-clicking, but I was getting a menu!!
You can see that where I was right-clicking has no mods or mobs or people or units there - just blank space, and yet I'm getting a menu from Omen somehow.
That's the first problem.
Now comes in the second issue that bugs me. I have my Assessment window set up to open underneath Omen. I only check Assessment when I'm out of combat/nothing targetted/etc, so Omen has no bars displayed. However, when I'm right-clicking in the Assessment window usually to go to the previous screen but a lot of times to use the "Report To" options, I get this annoying error:
["message"] = "Dewdrop-2.0-56529 (DewdropLib):2813: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'left' (a nil value)\nDewdrop-2.0-56529 (DewdropLib):2984: in function `Open'\nOmen-2.1r55025\\OmenDisplay.lua:359: in function <Interface\\AddOns\\Omen\\OmenDisplay.lua:353>\n\n ---",
["type"] = "error",
["time"] = "2008/01/02 21:20:40",
["session"] = 2694,
["counter"] = 1,
That's the second error, which I believe relates to the first, with the phantom-bars from Omen.
I hope I've explained this clearly! If any more information is needed, please let me know! Thanks.
I noticed about 1-2 weeks ago that Omen was no longer adding my pet damage (I'm a hunter)to my damage, despite having the box checked that merges them together. However, it appears that my other guildies do indeed see my damage including my pet's. So, it appears to sync correctly to others, just not show properly on mine.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has experienced this yet or knows of a fix for it.
Omen is not a damage meter. Why would your pet's threat be affected by your threat and vice versa? They are 2 very distinct units, and lumping their totaled threat together makes for very useless data on whether either unit will pull aggro.
I like Omen in general, but the one thing I really hate about it is that it uses SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0. In pretty much every thread about Omen I read that KTM is oh-so-slow and Omen was designed to be much lighter on the CPU. And still, it uses one of the worst libraries ever when it comes to CPU, SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0. The bad thing about this library is that it has a lot of features, none of which can be turned off. Some of these features might be useful to some AddOns, but they all take CPU.
For example, the library keeps track of every buff/debuff on every raid member. Whenever some random rogue gains Mungoose, all his buffs are reiterated multiple times, lots of strings are constructed, because the library wants to find out what exactly happened: Was a buff gained or lost, was a debuff gained or lost? The thing is: No one cares. Really. No one.
Now if a boss debuffs the entire raid, the library does the exact same thing, but this time for every member of the raid, maybe even for pets. About 400 lines of code (the function AuraScan) are executed 25+ times. Again, no one cares.
Now I know that Threat-1.0 needs to keep track of certain player buffs/target debuffs, like Salvation or Sunder. But please use another way than SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0 if you really want Omen to be as light on the CPU as promised.
Wouldn't it do to just use another Frontend for the Threat-Library? Or is it the Threat-Library that uses SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0?
They both use SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0. Threat-1.0 uses it for threat related stuff like Sunder debuff, Salvation buff. Omen uses it.... well... because the player might be a Paladin and might be a tank (Righteous Fury).
Some CPU data from two Lurker tries last night. I use a home baked Profiler that only records CPU times while in-fight, i run everything but the Ace2-internals (AceEvent etc) disembedded. As always it's hard to tell which AddOn uses how much from Ace2.
6241ms 6030ms Ace2
2365ms 1831ms Omen
1376ms 1254ms SpecialEvents-Aura-2.0
0643ms 0629ms Threat-1.0
I'm a feral Druid and use it when raiding, but occasionally during raids I seem to drop off the Threat List completely - just seems to be totally random, I've not been BoP'd or anything that would affect my threat - my bar just disappears.
As you can imagine, this causes some problems in fights where the threat is a major component of the difficulty.
Any ideas why these random drop outs might be occuring?
Hi all. I wanted to report a bug I noticed with Omen, but since this thread is more active than the other thread I'll post it here.
Basically, during Vashj, Omen reset my threat even though my Soulshatter was resisted. I recorded the kill with Fraps and made some screen grabs:
1: One frame after my Soulshatter was resisted. You can see the resist notification both above Vashj's head (default UI) and as a notification in the center (MSBT). Omen is located in the lower right just above the minimap. I am the fourth bar from the top in red. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n135/marskid2/omen1.jpg
So I've been using omen since it came out and the other day it just stopped working on my main. It still shows the test bars but is blank while i'm in combat. I've tried updating it, deleting the folder and reinstalling, and reseting my profile but nothing has made it start working again. It works for my alts still tho. I really don't wanna have to go back to khl threat meter but it looks like i have no choice.
I have a question about Omen, not sure if Im misunderstanding how it works for healers though. As it is, it seems to give you threat for each target individually and not general. For healers, we normally target our own party members (at least the vast majority of us do :P). When we target our party members, are we getting an overall threat comparison generated by our party member target? How does that work? I know my threat can be lower than my targets and still pull aggro from other mobs that arent being attacked. Is the threat Im seeing while targeting my party a general threat comparison of the target they are targeting?
I know when you target mobs, youll get a threat comparison for that particualar mob.
Global threat is not average threat. Global threat is just all the threat you have generated since you entered combat (and is largely a meaningless value, unless there is only one mob in the entire fight).
When a new mob enters combat, everyone's threat to it is 0, and a healer's heal will then aggro the new mob since no tank has threat on it.
Call me stupid, but I never felt that healers need to see threat-data. Sending may be cool, but seeing it is mostly useless. Even if you could see that the next heal will most likely give you aggro - what do you do? Not heal and let the tank die?
