I currently using Bigwigs yet my guilds raid leader is forcing Deadly Boss Mods(v3.0) on everyone. I've got DBMFTLBBQ installed yet it doesn't seem to be responding to version checks from DBM.
Is there something I am missing or have forgotten?
Reading into the DBM API.lua patchnotes I found:
(note: versions < 3.00 will sometimes not show up because this version changes some sync commands)
Is there any chance of DBMFTLBBQ being updated or fixed to reflect the sync changes for DBM 3.0?
I got a couple of "LVBM REQBARS" whispers last night, any way to have this mod hide those as well? or is that something I should just do in prat or somesuch?

Are you serious? DBM still users normal whispers for addon communication?
Yes isn't that terrific, and not only that, it was when zoning into an arena match...GOTTA SYNC MY BOSS MOD IN THE ARENA WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF BOSSES TO DEFEAT!

That's horrible. I'm not sure I want to add whisper blocking to DBMFTLBBQ though, it just adds so much more overhead to the code, it's not really worth it if you just get 1-2 of those whispers once in a while.

Think you can live without blocking it?
yarm I will deal with it in anooooother way. Thanks!
I know this is a old thread, but is there a possibility to add the countdown in?
I hear the sounds of the countdown from DBM but I don't see a visual timer.
Now I just count to 4 and start doing stuff, but a visual timer would be nice if possible.
It's been my experience that guilds that demand very specific addons from players almost always have other demands, and in the end it all makes you a rather unhappy player.
Now, the guilds that ASK that you run a TYPE of addon, but don't MANDATE it... those are the good ones. They focus on the fun, not all the minor details to make sure everything is in perfect order.
Unfortunately open minded guild leaders are few and far between, those guilds tend to be full, and hence players must either put up with OCD raid leaders, or not raid at all. :(
Sometimes this game opens up a depressing view on societal behaviour.

I am also in a guild forced to use DBM atm.....
I don't know what syncing DBM does for that, but the fix I'd suggest (since I assume people with DBMFTLBBQ are BW fans, like myself) is to call whatever function handles the /bwlcb command with the appropriate time/message.
Bigwigs was not intended or created to "simulate" DBM/LVBM. However, seperately oRA2 was designed to be "compatable" with CTRA. similar mods, different goals.
oRA and BW were written to be better faster smaller replacements to their CTRA counterparts. oRA maintained compatibility because it had to (to keep those stupid raid leaders from bitching)... BW didn't because there's no compatibility to be had, CTRA_BM was broadcast-only.

Rabbit = winner.
Working perfectly, thankyou very much.

That thought has crossed my mind tbh.

OCD/over-controlling raid leaders BLOW.
