i recently ported this mod to Ace2 because i wanted to include profile support and didn't want to design my own system for this. it's also made things like the dropdown menus easier to manage.
this is my first Ace mod ever, so i may have some stuff wrong. it seems to work alright, but i'm sure there's optimizations i can make to it and/or working better with other mods.
First Question:
If you read the addon description on the linked pages given your quetion would be answered.
Why would Arjuna code in that feature if it's already a very small seperate mod that works very well?
First response... point taken... I did not go down the link.
Second response.... The Big Picuture is still Ace1. I am trying to get rid of all the ace1 I can, so I asked if this new Ace2 mod had this feature. Being a minimap addon, it may have included it.
no. not sure i like the idea of automatically zooming out the minimap. of course, it would be an option, but still...anything 'automatic' i shy away from. then there's a question of timing, another dependancy. if more people were interested i would consider it.
Does it completely get rid of the border or make it like a tooltip border (prefer the later) hehe
the skins it comes with are changeable, if you want to provide one i will include it in the distro. i didn't make any of the included skins, i borrowed them from abandoned mods.
If you were to implement The Big Picture features, you might try Ace2's module system. I think maybe idChat does this? That way you can provide extra functionality for those who want it and those who don't can just use the basic core.

Just a thought.
actually, going the module route is on the horizon. alot of the features in this mod now can be broken out into modules so that people who want even lighter-weight can disable them. i kinda have this going with the dropdown menus currently, but they're not actually modularized, it's just a simple LoadOnDemand call.
I've been using SMM for a good while. Nice to see it on Ace.
Quick question.. I have issues with getting the minimap buttons the way I want them when using a square or semi square minimaps. I know this is probably beyond the scope of SMM, but what mod would people recommend to move them around freely (and by freely I mean completely detatch from the standard round minimap frame). I've heard Discord Frame Manager works wonders, but I'm trying to stay away from Discord Libraries and stick with Ace2.
What exactly does the ping popup do? I thought it would show a name somewhere when anyone pings the minimap but I never saw that happen. Perhaps it is offscreen? Using the topright borderless corner style in the very top right and hiding zoom, movers, time, and location.

any feedback is welcome.
nice to see simple minimap ace2'd :D
yep, you can hide the border. the mod comes with 6 'skins'; default round, square and corner with and without border artwork.
Very nice work.
*waits for the Bongos Ace2 thread*
this is a must for me.
Also are the features of The Big Picture in it? http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?s=&id=4919
This would be just a nice bonus to me, due to being able to remove one more legacy Ace 1.3 mod.

ahh and it'd be lovely if SMM could support minimap border texture customization...
