Capture Bar is for pvp objectives and the like, i.e. bone wastes and hellfire flags
I don't think it is. I went into both Terokkar with towers up for capture and Hellfire to test it out and those objectives all appeared in the World Goal(forget exact name) box instead. I still don't know what is meant with the Capture Bar.
Edit: Nvm I am an idiot. You are saying its a bar for when yer actually trying to capture a goal by camping your butt on it.
Yeah there are 2 pvp-related frames that Chinchilla lets you move. One is the capture bar frame, which is a bar indicator that shows the status of an objective that you have to camp on in order to capture. The other is the "world state always up frame" that shows PvP scores, hyjal/black morass waves, etc.
The first has the minimap as its parent frame, so most minimap addons include a mover for it. The second is a real pain in the butt because it sits smack in the middle top of the screen, it's parent is the world frame, and I don't know of any addons other than Chinchilla and generic frame movers that can move it.
Guees ill give this one a try and see if i can get this to look the way i want it since smm refuses to do it :p
Most of it looks the way i want it to, but is there any way to have a border that looks like Roth?
Can't seem to find any rounded corner minimap that can do it.
The "flat" border is close, but its so very thick...
Also, the ping seems broken, it shows name when i test (and the name just won't go away untill i ping the map outside of config) but when i ping it outside test no name shows (or does it only works for other ppls names?)
Found another problem.
The background and border of the coordinates refuses to stay hidden.
I set them to 0% alpha but whenever i reload they are back at full visibility despite the settings saying 0% alpha.
(I use skinner but its dissabled for all minimap related frames)

I think ping only works for other people's names.

There's a Skinner skin for Chinchilla. You may want to try moving that out of (or into) your SkinMe folder and see what happens.

The name stays put in the config so you can position it and mess with it. And yes, it only shows when other players ping.

Problem is that the name stays put even when i exit the config :p
After a LOT of fiddeling with the background and border alpha for teh coords i found that if i set it to 0% it buggs out, but if set to 1% it stays put.
Is there a Chincilla option or separate addon to manipulate the mini zone map as well? (Shift-M default keybinding.) I always have it up for battlegrounds to quickly view PVP objective status, and it would be nice if it was anchored to the mini map frame and least look similar to the mini map.
How do I add the rothsquare border to Chinchilla? I copied roth.tga from SharedMedia\border to Chinchilla\Appearance and added a few lines to Chinchilla\Appearance\Appearance.lua, but I don't get it to work. Did I copy the wrong roth.tga?
I used to have the rothsquare border, but my compter crashed 3 weeks ago and lost everything! :(
That's a weak argument, considering that Chinchilla already has movers that are technically out of scope for a minimap addon >.>
Only one. And that's because there are no other addons that have movers for it. There are *plenty* of buff addons, and it's out of scope for Chinchilla to "assume" the user is using Blizz default buffs and needs a minimap addon to move them.

Actually I did find an addon that provides a mover for the one non-minimap frame supported by Chinchilla, which is nice because it was the one thing keeping me from switching to a non-Rock minimap addon: http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/9321/
So I maintain that it's a weak but not unreasonable nor invalid argument.
Isn't the "scope" of an addon merely a matter of opinion anyway? It seems to me that scope is only really limited by an author's needs and imagination where one can incorporate as much or as little as desired into a single mod. Thinking outside the box can help produce good mods but removing the box entirely can actually produce great mods imho.

100% true, although I'm learning that it may be generally better to have functionality broken up into multiple smaller addons instead of being collected up into one big addon, so that you can swap in something that does a particular job better without having as much feature overlap.

Indeed. Even if the ginormous addon supplies a method of "disabling" all the features I don't want/need, it generally loads them into memory anyway - hiding them from view instead of outright disabling them. Yay for modularity!

how do i remove what looks like a goat's head graphic from the lower-left-corner of the minimap? i'm using the square minimap if that matters.
thanks.
cool, thanks!

that's out of scrope for a minimap addon.
