I've got a similiar problem. As I uncheck the location bar, it goes away. But when I logoff/logon, the location bar is there again. Any ideas?
Finally solved the problem. In my case it was not Chinchilla but Bongos causing problems. Somehow the bongos minimap frame and Chinchilla are interacting with each other, so you also have to turn off the location bar in the bongos minimap frame, and it won't show up any more.

Not using bongos. There must be something else interfering.
Not sure when it started happening, but I no longer see my mail icon when I have mail.
I have tried to make the icon moveable and moved it with the sliders, still cannot see it.
I have deleted my SV and it still does not show up. Anyone else having similar issues?
In reply to my own post, to have the location showing but to have the background hidden disable location text and bar under show hide. Then enable the location module and set the background and border transparency to 0%. Very confusing!
Lewzephyr: The mail icon worked when I tested the addon without having loaded any others. Sounds like you have other addons interfering. Using mailfu or anything that helps with bulk mailing/opening by chance?
I posted on the Jira, but I was wondering if someone had a fix for my issue... When I right click on my target for the options it is under my minimap, well anything is under my minimap even if the level is set to 0 or 1 I took a screen shot of it:
I can list my addons if need, it's a pretty long list hehe
About the location bar problem; you can actually have both SLDT and chinchilla running, just be sure to set the option to hide the location bar in both addons.
Now I have another problem, opacity does not work at all for me :S
I have disabled all my addons but chinchilla and still always at 100% opacity no matter what I set in the options...

Have you tested this outdoors? There is a Blizzard issue with setting the minimap to non-opaque while indoors or in an instance.
All of a sudden after updating all my add ons chinchilla doesn't load period.
Checked in game with ace feature to see if it was loaded it was, tried disabling bongos2 map feature completely even disabled bongos2 completely (tried this because of previous posts here, altho, never had any problems before with bongos2 interfering with chinchilla but thought I would try this anyway) still didn't work couldn't click on the map to pull up option typing /chin or /chinchilla nothing happened just the type /help for blah blah
It will not pull up the menu at all in game either did add some new add ons today (removed cartographer for mapster and installed gather mate and routes) disabled all of those too and tried again still no luck.
Let me know what other info you may need or if anyone else has this problem atm? I really liked this add on but I guess for now will have to go without :(
- changed the minimap scale to 70 percent
- changed its horizontal and vertical position
While draging the vertical slider for the minimap position the minimap moved diagonaly! So i am not able to position it correctly using the sliders. Whats wrong here?
I've made a couple of changes that I'd like some testing done on:
77814: Chinchilla: Remove "magic number" infinite loop checks as multiple battleground queues calls MiniMapBattlefieldFrame:Show() within the epilon. Machine/timing dependent checks like this should never be used. If someone can replicate the "infinite loop" problem for me, I'll fix it.
I've been running with this change for over a week now and have not had any problems.
77817: Chinchilla:
- Change the name of the "clock" to "day night indicator"
- Add the new minimap clock, to be introduced in 2.5; this won't appear in 2.4
Please let me know if these additions cause any problems on 2.4; the new options shouldn't even be visible.
Also, I'd be grateful if someone could test this on the PTR.

I've gotten it to work just using SLDT and not the Chinchilla module. But easiest is to just disable the SLDT module.

Any error messages? Maybe you're missing some libraries or something.
Just tried again by using the manual update from the site (http://files.wowace.com/Chinchilla/) seems to be working now... sorry about all this :)
guess it will be another I don't using the updater for.
i have discovered some strange behavoir:
- changed the minimap scale to 70 percent
- changed its horizontal and vertical position
While draging the vertical slider for the minimap position the minimap moved diagonaly! So i am not able to position it correctly using the sliders. Whats wrong here?
Kind regards

Ha! You're right...
It's immaterial anyway, it doesn't do checks against the version, it does checks against the existence of the buttons.
