I logged in about 4 different Alliance characters of various levels and none of the objectives showed up on the map.....
Does this work at all?
It's possible that:
1) You don't have QuestObjectives (It happens! Really, it does!)
2) Make sure you have the database installed correctly (WTF/Account/*AccountName*/SavedVariables)
3) Make sure the options are configured correctly
4) Check to see if EQL3 is enabled. If it is, try disabling it and trying again. If that's the problem go tell the author of EQL3 that they make Nosrac Cry ;-).
hmmm, where can i find the latest version of quest objectives. it seems that horde undead side were never combined/merged to the quest_objectives.lua (doesn't mean to seperate the lua for every class, just for info)... i searched this thread up and down and ima little bit confused. can't figure out, which is the latest file.
would be nice, if someone can help me.
Also, is there a way we can use these massive databases to show us Quest givers, as well? Since most of the 1-60 stuff is in these databases, it would be a huge help, especially for places like the Wetlands.
I have the combined DB in the /savedvar folder and have the addon enabled on the minimap, but i dont see any icons for the barren quests is there something im missing? I have quest objectives.
Edit: I got it working but keep getting this error when scrolling over one of the icons on the minimap. "...interface/addons/cartographer_questobjectives/addon.lua:1284 attempt to call field "getXY" (a nil value). Any ideas?
Updated quests from outlands. Some stuff I did in Netherstorm. I'm wondering how to compile, so I can keep my guild up to date and have them share things they find as well. I do see you can have cartographer ask guildies for quests, it doesn't seem like it does anything. I assume though that might be cause they don't have quest objectives.
Note: This is from the Alliance only Database. I'll be trying to make a complete list. Right now I'm in Blade's Edge trying to find all the quests, along with a lvl 51 questing in Ungoro and a lvl 11 questing in Loch Modon.
EDIT: I've figured out a poorman's way of compiling. You need two accounts, or a friend and yourself, both with cartographer quest objectives for it to work. Decide which account will hold the compiled list. Then put new data you wish to add to the compiled list in the saved variables of the other acct. Log on both, join a party, and on the compiled list acct, ask cartographer to manually update it's quest objectives from the party. Keep the map open while doing this and you should be set. Once you get more new data to add, just replace the old data you just compiled into the huge file with the data you want to add, and do it again.
This isn't perfect, I closed my map while it was compiling and I can't get it to start again. I'm wondering if something in cartographer's functionality is keeping from the same acct from sharing again. I'm replacing all instances of the character's name in the lua file with a random letter to test this. Though, I doubt it'll work, since it didn't seem to do anything when I used a diffrent character on the same acct to share the data. Someone really needs to edit cartographer's script in order for it to let the user know when it is transfering, when it stops, etc. Gunna look into how gathersync reborn does this.
