Just made the switch from Cartographer_QuestObjectives to Mobmap and must admit its nice to have an addon that doesn't spit errors at you all the time and is kept up to date.
Also like the way MobMap handles its data, its broken up and only accesses what it needs so its far more memory efficient, its not at the top of performancefu like QuestObjectives always was.
I recommend people try it until this one gets a rewrite.
Thank you - will give it a try. At the moment all cartographer modules 'seem' to use ~ 35 MB in my Addon memory.

I use MobMap on characters doing quests at the time...and that's it. Don't have it loading during heroic dungeons or raids. If you want to bring even the newest PC to its knees, enable its "...MobMap Overlay..." option for world map mob locations ;).
But yes, it doing LOD for specific databases as AtlasLoot, BigWigs, etc. do to improve memory usage is nice.
MobMap is not really a satisfactory replacement for QuestObjectives because it doesn't create map notes in Cartographer. Ah well.

Embedded libraries (libraries in the same folder as the addon, as the majority of people use) will boost "memory used" statistics. Which means the statistic is meaningless if you have any other addon that uses Ace2, Rock or other libraries Cartographer uses.
I'm getting quest objective notes popping up for things that I've completed eons ago. For instance, the quest to mine incendicite in the Wetlands. When I tried doing a "delete all notes for this quest" (not permanently), I got the following error, not sure if it's related:

No i was refering to the in-game stats by FuBar_PerformanceFu listing the top 20 and summing up the Memory usage of Cartographer + Cartographer_*.
I also disabled Embedded libs because i used to wait 1 minute upon login.

Right, PerformanceFu can't show you the differences between Cartographer with embedded libraries and Cartographer with standalone libraries, other than memory used.
The only thing it will show is Cartographer using a lot more memory when its libraries are embedded. As well, if you have any other addon using the same libraries Cartographer does (which is likely) and also have embedded libraries with them, the amount of memory it shows its using is increasingly meaningless.
When you say you "disabled embedded libs", do you have full standalone folders with all the Rock & Ace libraries you need? And you also manually deleted the \libs subfolder inside Cartographer? If not, the libraries are still embedded.
Again, unless all the libraries are standalone (in their own folders) and are _not_ located inside the AddOns\Cartographer\libs folder (embedded), the memory usage you see for Cartographer in PerformanceFu is meaningless.
I have downloaded the latest Quest Database and successfully loaded the LUA into my WTF folder.
When I open my map I see ALL the quest objectives on my map at one time. It's just far too much to look through and it's actually harder to find the place I need to be because it's so cluttered.
I opened Cartographer's options menu and only have the following options checked off:
Quest
|--> Filter
|--> Active Quests
|--> Available Quests
However, I still have every objective from the database on my map.
I also tried opening my Map, clicking Quest Info, and clicking Show Active Quests to see if that'd clear up the excess objectives, however it has not.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
Problem solved.
The Solution (for anyone who might encounter my problem):
- Under the Cartographer options menu find the Quest Objectives tab.
- Filter
- Click Hide Inactive and Hide Completed
I've searched with no luck so sorry if this has been asked too much but where can I get the latest quest/quest objective databases? Thanks for any help on that and sorry again.
The way I add to the database is by downloading it onto my second account. Log in that account and group it with my first account and share the data between them. Now they both have the downloaded database and the contributions I had on my main account.

Any update on the problem that the objectives DB isn't saved anymore between sessions? The notes get added to the map, and old objectives saved in the SV are shown to. But new added notes aren't saved.
i know this isn't really in development but i am hoping that someone picks it back up and continues with it. this was a real life saver, it made it so i could get off the computer faster so the wife wouldn't kill me.
I send the data back and forth so all accounts have the same updated Quest Objectives. I will periodically download a quest database from the Share your Quest Objective Database thread on these forums and share it with my second account.
German Client: The "notes" are saved with the english zone name and the "objectives" are saved with the german zone name. When I share my database with someone he only gets the "objectives" when the english zone name is different to the german zone name. Does anyone exist who can fix this? =)

Do you then propagate it back up?
yes check this thread

Yes.

My quest database sits at about 7.5 megs.
