I've been having a problem where I cant view the boss loots from all kinds of instances. Doesn't matter if it is Outland or Azeroth. When I select a boss to view its loots I get the usual window opened up on the left or right but all I see is item id's. Even item's that I KNOW have dropped and that I even wear.
Example: Heroic Underbog - The Black Stalker - Savage Helm of the Lynx Lord doesn't show up on the drop list yet I'm wearing it.
This is for your 'safety'. If you want to view the loot you need to click on the IDs until the link appears. Cart does this because since 1.12 (i think) if you have an item link that the server hasn't seen since the last reboot you will be disonneced. In most cases you can click whatever and see the links without being disconnected.

Is there anyway to have Cart to "remember" the items I clicked on before? It's a tad annoying having to click through the loot lists every time.
What about the "dead link" where the itemnumber just disappears from the list once you click it?
Are those items the server hasn't seen since last restart?
Also wouldn't it be possible to automatically poll the server for all items on the list once you open it?
The list is a reflection of your local item cache. If its numbers, your machine hasn't seen the item before. If its the item's name, you have.
You should only have to click once to poll the server for the item.
Mmmm... so what you're saying is that the ID numbers should be only shown for the items I've never came across in the game, while for the ones I've seen I should have a regular link, right?
Then there must be something wrong with my Cart/PT3 installation, because I quickly logged in game to check and I had the ID number in place of the regular link for an item (the T4 token dropped by Magtheridon) I had in my inventory last night.
Any idea about it?
Is there any reasonable way to have Carto just hook AtlasLoot when in instances? Honestly when I tap 'M' in an instance I just want the AtlasLoot gui to pop.
There are some notes in the lua regarding hooking to Atlas for instance maps already so I think it should be pretty feasible. Why duplicate efforts when you can just hook in, eh?
Perhaps if the one isn't seen to be equal to the job that both combined can do. Cartographer doesn't replace AtlasLoot to my satisfaction, and so I use both.
@jerry - its part of the cartographer module itself
I use atlasloot as well because I like its interface better, and can look up faction rewards easily. Also, I like the way it notes in the interface what type of armor (e.g, cloth, leather etc.) so when I'm only looking for stuff for my priest, I know what I dont need to bother to look at in advance.
I do like the look of most of the cartographer instance maps, with one glaring exception. I dont understand why the Kara map is laid out the way it is, with a big black space in the center, making the four segments really hard to view unless tremendously enlarged. Why not enlarge them and fill up most of that space the way atlas does?

This would risk to get you disconnected regularly every time Cart cannot retrieve the item link from the server.

Why use two addons instead of one?

And what can the two combined do?
What's Cartographer missing compared to AtlasLoot?
