I have never seen a problem with sharing the nodes from Herbing Mining and the treasures. There used to be a site out there that folks could upload to and someone was merging the files and then posting a file to download the combined DB's. Would be kinda nice to see something like that emerge again I think.
And I second/third and so on the suggestions for the ungoro gatherer, felwood gatherer, gatherershare/dump ports, the mini-map circles, and mostly the ability to tag nodes without having to have the skill or actually loot the node.
Someone posted some time ago that there's a problem with Cartographer_Mining when being used on a German client: Only Dark Iron and Thorium Deposits do appear as notes on the map, whereas none of the other ores do. As I too would really appreciate a fix for this behaviour, I took a look at the code to possibly be able to provide a suggestion how to "repair" it. What I found is this line which IMHO causes the problem:
I think that the space in the regexp matching pattern is the point to look at. As was stated in the earlier posting, the German names for the ores do not contain spaces, thus for the deDE version the removal of the space would fix it. Perhaps a different regexp just for deDE would already do it...
Just my 0.02 - I'm not really good at writing lua, so if I'm totally wrong, nvm. Just ignore me (and fix it a different way). ;-)
For instance boss loot listings, only list "unique" drops - not all the random world drop items they may have dropped once or twice. This would really clean up the list.
Also, it'd be nice to be have separate options to lock the map's position and make it click-through -- took me a while to figure out why mousoever POIs, zoom clicking, etc. weren't working when I had it locked. Not a big deal now that I've figured it out though.
Well, we now have loot tables (a la the Instance Loot module). You access it by clicking the note of a boss. To see, go to Onyxia's Lair and click on Onyxia's note.
That's what I'm talking about. :P Onyxia is fine, as are most of the bosses in raid instances. Nearly every boss in a 5-man instance, however, lists are all kinds of random greens, whites, grays, and a few blues that are world drops - they're not part of that boss's unique loot table, and they have a chance to drop of *anything*, but they're listed when you click on the boss's note. I'm guessing nobody really needs to know that Baron Rivendare can drop Runecloth, Morning Glory Dew, and Random Green Armor of the Monkey, for example.
