After today's update, aside from the complete evaporation of my settings, the option to change the map background transparency and leave just the overlay seems to have disappeared as well. I assumed it was under look and feel, the overlay option seems to work, but I'm not sure what its purpose is now since it only makes the useful information disappear.
At first I just saw the whole map when I opened it for the first time. Then I clicked the red X in the corner, and the border went away but the map did not close. I have to use the icon by the mini-map to apen and close the map. When I do so tho border stays gone, and I can't get it back.
Then after switching to an area map, such as mulgore or durotar, the transparency changed. You did not see the whole map, just the part you can run around in. After you go back to a city now the whole city map is gone.
So then the border was gone, the map, and the text super imposed over the map telling you how to change the transparency or zoom in and out etc. I tried to change the transparency back the way I like it using the mouse wheel but it has no affect.
All I see is where my char is, the two red buttons, and where the venders quest givers etc are, but no map.
And if you disable look and feel, that's even worse. It like doing a ALT-Z before you take a screen shot, only you can?t change the setting without editing the lua for cartographer directly, or deleting the lua file all together.
Yep, still having the "look and feel" issue. If I enable it at all and hit "m" it makes the map pop up , but the rest of my ui is shot. If I turn off look and feel, the ui stays up the but the map is gone other than the ! and ? and trainer markers.
And I just updated cart through the updater again after it happened the first time so I should have the most up to date version.
Check your key-binding menu and make sure you're not bringing up the alternative map. I had this problem as well and it happened that the alternate map stole my regular map key-binding for some reason.
