I doubt CKK will fix it, because he doesn't appear to consider it broken. It's been this way for a few months, and comes up periodically, but there's never a reply from him, so I assume it's just "working as intended" at not going to change at this point.
Probably, but I won't be doing it. I also stripped a bunch of related code out of the waypoints module that let you set a waypoint based on a guild member's position. Although really, if you *want* the guild position stuff, why not just use the official version? If you're using it, it doesn't really matter that it's scattered all over the place. :P
I never actually looked at your modifications, Phanx, but I updated Cartographer the other day and last night I went through the core lua. I found it was really pretty trivial to find and cleanly remove (well, I commented it out) the function that sends your position and the line that initializes it. Guildmates confirmed that I'm not broadcasting position, and my bugsack is empty. Thanks for the idea!
If you just create a new addon with '## LoadWith: Cartographer' set in the toc and overwrite Cartographers guildpossition broadcasting initialization function with an empty function ('function() end'), by the time it gets called in cartographer it wont be able to do anything and it wont be effected by updating.
