In BC, in Hellfire Peninsula, with some of the fel iron deposits, the icons will follow me on the minimap. I'm using simple minimap, if that helps with anything. But, there's a node I mined near the alliance town in Hellfire, and when I get to that part of the map, the icon starts following me. The further I get away from the area, the further away from me it gets, but it still within view on the minimap, and still follows, even when I'm on the other side of the map in Hellfire.
Last night I was noticing that Icons were following me around in city areas but then stopped when I went out into the wilderness. First noticed it in Shattrath city then going out to Terokkar Forest it went away only to happen again when I ported to Ironforge (via a mage). I haven't done any troubleshooting on the issue yet however since someone is reporting a similar issue I am adding my experience to the thread.
