I have a little problem with the construction of Herbes symbols in the minimap.
The Symbols does not stick on the place where i found the herbes, they follow me, but only in the minimap.
I can remeber that the problem was by gatherer, too (long long time ago).
One Solution for me, where the disableing in the minimap, but how i can do that???
I also test it, when i deleted the Simpleminimap AddOn, but the problem ist the same.
at the moment you are the saving the herbs like
[75111750] = "Goldthorn"
isnt it better to just use some extra numbers as code for the name of the herb and maybe the area where this coordinate fit (like hinterland etc)?
so add some extra digits to the current one for the name and the location.
I have (had) a ugly problem with Cartographer / Herbalism which seems only to occur in the German WOW-Client (my English client worked without any flaws):
Here's the bug:
Notes (Icons) which can be seen on the minimap (for example Cartographer Herbalism or InFlight) don't vanish when they reach the minimap-border. They wander over the screen until they finally vanish. With an English Client I never had this problem.
I tried to uninstall simpleMiniMap but the problem ramained. Perhaps the strata of the icons is set too low?
I hope you'll find the bug so that I can trash the MetaMap/Flightmap/Gatherer Combo which I installed due to this bug ;)
The circles and icons outside the minimap can simple fix by the author.
I posted it here and on the buglist.
The bug post was marking as fixed but every version on the svn hase the same old wrong code.
Every time I correct it on my copy by hand and I have no circles outside the minimap on each area.
The problem is in the file Notes.lua.
The calculating of the scaling factors at function Cartographer_Notes:IterateNearbyNotes and Cartographer_Notes:GetNearbyNote based on a wrong zone name so the factors will set to the default 1000 and 666.67.
The author defined global scaling factors by the correct zone name but he forget to use these.
Sorry but the author has to do many other things I think .
So he has no time to read this forum or the bug list.
It is a super addon but I miss the working with the user.
Hellknight is the mini map icon wandering in just 1 zone or all zones? if its just 1 zone, the culprit is a localization that has a bug in tourist, Post here what zones are doing it so we can verify spelling
I have the same problem together with others using the German client. I don't have herb nodes for every zone, but as the mining nodes show the behavior Hellknight described in almost every zone I assume that the herbs will do the same (I can confirm it at least for Eastern Plaguelands). It does seem to apply to all types of map notes (confirmed it for quest givers, herbs, ores, and notes added manually).
You seem to be right with your suggestion about a bug in Tourist. At least the names of the affected zones in Babble-Zone are correct.
dRaCo has the german client, i told him what to add as debug and tell me what he gets to see if the localizations are coming across right at runtime and see where this is happening

But thats not funny when there are many symbols are follow you, sometimes you can´t see the arrow in the minimap.
I am getting this problem as well. It's been mentioned in the main cartographer thread.

The problem is that there are many lines with YardWidthMult etc. - and due to the newer build of cartographer they don't match anymore :(
What I have read on wowinterfaces I don't think that the author is aware of this problem or will fix it in a short time.
Perhaps he should state that Cartographer is not fully compatible to non-english versions :(
My only recommendation for non-english-clients until this problem is fixed (?) is to use metamap/flightmap/gatherer :(
Sorry for this great addon :(
Greetings
Timo
If this is possible - I'll give cartographer a last chance :D
For example (affected Zones with the wandering icons):
"Östliche Pestländer" ---> "Eastern Plaguelands"
"Sumpfland" ---> "Wetlands"
Not affected:
"Ironforge" ---> "Ironforge"
"Dun Morogh" ---> "Dun Morogh"
["Felwood"] = "Teufelswald"
