Lock it and the background goes away - or so I recall.
While it's true that ItemRack has its own background when it is unlocked, the Skinner plugin for ItemRack creates what is essentially a middleframe that goes behind the buttons, locked or unlocked.
Hello Jncl,
Love Skinner, been using it for quite a while now. I'd like to make a feature request, a question, and a bug report.
Feature Request: Allow setting of "Middle Frames" strata and layer levels (perferably individualy) via options window. (Right now, I have to recode the .lua file after every update to set their level)
Question: Is the UI frame (default blizzard) for class trainers supposed to be skinned? Mine are not and best I can tell, no option seems to be directed at that frame in particular.
Bug: With chat windows skinned, clicking on the window (such as to click a item link) will occasionally case the gradient to jump up in layer level and be visible over the text in that window. I probably would not have noticed this under normal conditions, but I've recently installed "MiniChat", which minimizes my chat windows when not in use, and it became very apparent that the gradient was behaving oddly. It should be noted that without clicking on the window, the skin behaves perfectly with Minichat.
For those users who don't like/want the warning messages about missing skins you can turn off the message(s) using /skinner warnings
@ st0nedpenguin, I'll check DurabilityFu again :(
@ Gridius, I'm working on Auc-Advanced
@ whysky, I'll move it
@ Lewzephyr, It looks alright to me, can you post a screenshot please and also tell me what screen resolution and UI scaling you use please ?
@ DarthWickett, I'll look into for you
@ OrionShock, This used to be a option in an earlier version but was replaced by the SknMe directory. You can just copy all the skins in there without a problem.
@ NavyFC, 1 - I'll add an option to set the Frame level for each Middle Frame, is Frame Strata required as well?
2 - All the Blizzard Frames are skinned by default, if the class trainers isn't check to see if the skinning of it is turned off /skinner npc and see if trainer is [On] or [Off], you can toggle the setting by using /skinner npc trainer
3 - Thanks for the Bug info, I'll check it out

Thanks for the reply. Personally, I don't need the frame strata at this time and I really don't see ever needing to bring it above the "Background" strata, but others may be interested in this. I'll check out the trainer issue once I log on tonight, if I don't post more about it, then your suggestion fixed my problem.
Jncl, is it possible to get an xml file that loads all the files in the SkinMe folder, instead of having them all in the TOC file. It would reduce the error messages in the FrameXML.log file considerably (don't know if it has an performance effect also).
I can do it myself, but I don't want to fiddle with your addon without your consent. If you want me to do it, just tell me here and I'll do it.
Hi Murazorz,
I'm not sure what problem you're trying to fix by this. I don't get any errors in the FrameXML.log file from Skinner and I have all the Skins in the SkinMe folder.
Sorry, i was a bit unclear in my post.
I only put the files I skin in the SkinMe folder, since the TOC file tries to load a lot of files that aren't in there (since I didn't copy all of them) I get a message in the FrameXML.log file, like this:
@ Lewzephyr, It looks alright to me, can you post a screenshot please and also tell me what screen resolution and UI scaling you use please ?
1280x1024
hard to tell on UI scale, as its a slider bar that doesnt really tell you what its at. I do have UI Scale Checked... and the slider bar is just a little below half way.

that works, but to be more specific: each skin as various elements, i'd like to disable certain frames from being skined but not all.
Are you using a different font to the default Blizzard one? If so have you replaced the game fonts with the appropriate sized ones as it seems that the text is larger than normal ? If you are can you try running without changing the game fonts and see if it is ok then.
I can't test your resolution on my setup, can you try a different resolution and see if it is any better or worse please.

, a row for every file not found, in my case about 160-170. But if you load the SkinMe files through an xml file, you wont get any of these errors.
Hi Murazorz,
I've just tried using an xml file for the skins and the same errors are written to the FrameXML.log along with an extra line preceeding them naming the xml file.
Either continue as you are only copying those skins you want, the messages don't seem to slow down the loading process, or copy/move ALL the skins into the SkinMe directory. Any unused ones will not stay in storage when Skinner has finished loading.

You know what.... I am useing clearfont2.... lemme dig into that mod and see if it was just me that buggered stuff up.
Please disregard this issue, unless I come back with it.
HealBot skin doesn't seem to work as I'd expect. I still see a border around the HealBot party frame as well as a transparent background, even though I have Skinner set to no border and a dark background.
Edit: I guess HealBot has configuration options for this stuff, so no worries :)

Hi art3mis,
Thanks for pointing out that there were no instructions on how to use a Texture as a Backdrop. I have updated the Wiki Page

Hi DarthWickett,
To remove the skin behind the buttons run these commands:
Thanks for the info.

Hi OrionShock,
Can you give some examples of the Addons/Frames you don't want skinned please

Skinned Auc-Advanced, as requested by Gridius
Updated WIM & EditingUI skins
Added Frame Level & Strata options to MiddleFrames, as requested by NavyFC.
Access the new options using or where mfn can be mf1 to mf9, level can be between 0 and 20 and xxx can be a valid strata.
Moved Filter Checkbox on Tradeskill & Crafting Frames, as requested by whysky

@ st0nedpenguin, DurabilityFu seems ok to me but I'll keep using it to try and find the issue
EDIT: removed misleading comment
I did however find another wee problem, seems the tradeskill window buttons are a bit low since one of the recent changes:
Hi st0nedpenguin,
I'd noticed that as well, it is fixed in the latest version. :)
Edit: I guess HealBot has configuration options for this stuff, so no worries :)
Hi HunterZ,
The HealBot skin only skins the tooltips as everything else can be configured using HealBot. :)
I did notice the tooltip background was re-skinned, but not the border.
