I did take your advice and I still see a difference, I might not have responded because I quit wow for a while and at that point it didn't matter.
I have taken two screeenshots and cut the window to compare. The issue I am having is not with the text, and I don't have CF even active in that screenshot. but if you compare the two pictures I just provided you can see at the corner where my pvp tab is that there is a lot more space after the pvp tab in the gradient version than in my screenshot. if you can't see I am sorry but it is there for sure. It is like the spacing is off for the window. Correct me if I am wrong but when you load skinner doesn't you character frame get bigger than the normal blizzard UI?
When I cut out my frame and post it next to the reg blizz frame it is very similar, but compared to all the other screenshots I have seen with skinner active it is always off. Look at the spacing of my items on the window. Even if CF was activated it doesn't affect the way the items are spaced and such. take a close look at the corner by the pvp tab and tell me that it still is the same size. There is a definite difference, and I don't know what else to say. If nothing can be done fine, but the windows are two different sizes. I will provide a new picture to show you the difference
It appears to me your UI elements are scaled larger than the example pic, while at the same time your UI font is scaled smaller than the example. So the distortion is tied to your ingame UI scale and perhaps you are using Clearfont or something similar to change universal font(s) and their respective sizes. These two combined...could cause the "distortion" that is bugging you.
I would suggest deleting your skinner saved variables and your font addon variables. Update to the latest versions of your addons. Log in and set your UI scale to 1 on the slider, log out and relog in and start fresh. I do not think "reloading ui" will work to see your skinner changes accurately when playing with the ingame UI scale slider. Just keep logging in and out till its "right" for you.
Also, I think you may want to experiment with "skinning the tabs" option. You can leave those unskinned and may give a different effect for you, too. Also, I think that person is usiing oGLow? Or it may be that none of gear in your shot is uncommon or rare.
One more thing, it may help us could you take a screen shot of your character sheet with Skinner addon loaded and another screenshot of the "same" character sheet with skinner disabled? Your example shot don't "really" help as they are from different computers, characters, screen resolutions, ui scales, etc. Two shots from you identical...minus skinning, would be the GREATEST help in helping you.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered but I've searched through this thread manually and through the forum search function many times but can't seem to find the answer to my issue.
Anyway, often when I log in all of my skinned frames have a thicker border than Skinners normal default look. After I reload my UI numerous times it will go back to the default look, but I was wondering if there is something I can do to save me from reloading my UI 3 or 4 times after I log in to fix this. I know it's a small thing but it bothers me enough to make a post and any help would be appreciated.
I have messed with the border thickness and border padding settings in the configure menu, but it doesn't resolve this issue. If necessary I could provide screen shots on what I'm talking about.
Alright well here's a couple screenshots to better show what I'm talking about:
This is how Skinner looks after I log on most of the time:
Heres how I want it to look and which is the default look as far as I know:
I have to reload my UI a couple of times before it will fix itself. After doing a side by side comparison it appears that the border isn't actually thicker but there's a shadow on the inside of it. I know it's subtle and most people wouldn't think twice about it but it bothers me, so any help would be appreciated. It's probably something very simple that I'm overlooking.
With the latest versions of Skinner and TipTac, this error occurs when the TipTac options frame is opened:
[2008/01/28 00:56:26-955-x1]: Skinner-2.1\AddonSkins\TipTac.lua:19: AceHook-2.1: Attempt to hook a non-existant function "TipTacOptions_GetFrame"

ArkInventory recently had features added to customize its appearance to a greater degree than afforded by Skinner. As a result, I decided to not use the ArkInventory skin in Skinner, and instead configure ArkInventory's appearance directly.
Unfortunately this has a quirk because ArkInventory hooks the guild bank frame, and the ArkInventory skin code in Skinner is what gets around this so that Skinner can skin the guild bank frame. I can work around this by toggling skinning of the guild bank frame off and back on.
I would suggest whittling the ArkInventory skin down to just having the guild bank frame skin fix and nothing else, but some people may still prefer to have Skinner handle ArkInventory's appearance so that they can do gradient or textured backgrounds or something.

For example, I use the Skinner skin for the backdrop, and still use some of the AI customizations too on top of it. So I, personally, wouldn't want to see the Skinner support for backdrops and such removed on the skin.

Ah, I thought Skinner would totally override ArkInventory's settings. The two mesh well? I'll have to try it.
I don't know about setting textures with AI and Skinner together... haven't tried it.
I let Skinner apply my custom backdrop texture and all so it matches everything else. I then customized the border thickness and color for the bars in AI, and the bar background color (left it somewhat translucent so the Skinner backdrop shows through). Seems to work ok for my purposes doing it this way.

I see what your talking about. It is very subtle. At first I thought it was the opacity of the buttons...but your right I think the background or something is a little off. I don't know how to fix.
Option House skin is buggy, based on experiences from myself and a few friends. The skin will cover up the options and make them invisible. Without the skin, the options show up fine.

function Skinner:CowTip()
local CTAdb = CowTip:GetDatabaseNamespace("Appearance")
if CTAdb then
CTAdb.profile.borderColor = { self.db.profile.TooltipBorder.r, self.db.profile.TooltipBorder.g, self.db.profile.TooltipBorder.b, self.db.profile.TooltipBorder.a }
CTAdb.profile.bgColor["other"] = { self.db.profile.Backdrop.r, self.db.profile.Backdrop.g, self.db.profile.Backdrop.b, self.db.profile.Backdrop.a }
end
local CTHBdb = CowTip:GetDatabaseNamespace("HealthBar")
if CTHBdb then CTHBdb.profile.texture = self.db.profile.StatusBar.texture end
local CTPBdb = CowTip:GetDatabaseNamespace("PowerBar")
if CTPBdb then CTPBdb.profile.texture = self.db.profile.StatusBar.texture end
if not self:IsHooked(ShoppingTooltip1, "SetBackdrop") then
self:Hook(ShoppingTooltip1, "SetBackdrop", function(this, ...) end, true)
end
if not self:IsHooked(ShoppingTooltip2, "SetBackdrop") then
self:Hook(ShoppingTooltip2, "SetBackdrop", function(this, ...) end, true)
end
end
and this is the old cowtip skin and it does work :(
function Skinner:CowTip()
self:glazeStatusBar(CowTip_HealthBar_Bar, 0)
self:glazeStatusBar(CowTip_PowerBar_Bar, 0)
end
