That's it thx. But I can't seem to find out how to turn it off. Now I just know that I can go trough my messages my holding alt, which is kinda annoying.
???
If you have it off, default Blizzard behavior is to hold alt down. If you have the feature turned on (located in the edit box module, which I already stated) then you don't have to hold alt anymore.

That option ON, no alt key.
I think the guy requested that he DID want to use the alt key, so turn option off gives you default UI behavior.
Hi guys, just FYI i am out of town still, probably through midweek.
Prat-3.0's target release date is approaching rapidly - so, I'm really looking for feedback on what is needed to make Prat release-ready at this point.
Sylv, I have some feedback. I have been experiencing lock ups when using the Copy Chat button. Well I think I have it narrowed down. It's because of the History length. I had it set to the maximum, without really thinking about it, because I found the default to be too low. The max is 5000, which is... a lot. Well clicking Copy Chat with that much locked me up. I have it set to 1000 now and there's a noticeable delay already when clicking the Copy Chat button. If you want to test this, you'll probably have to generate some text in your chat frame to make sure you have enough history to test with.
Long story short, Copy Chat needs to be limited or throttled in some way. I guess at 5000 lines, if I had waited long enough, it would have given me back control of the game after a certain amount of time, but by then, I might have d/c'ed anyway.
I haven't re-enabled the experimental module. Perhaps you have some input on that. If it tried to do its work on a 5000 line history, maybe that was it. Perhaps restricting it to the amount of chat visible on-screen would be a good workaround. Not sure how you'd limit Copy Chat though.

I'll try to add a timer to limit the amount of time it spends trying to collect the text.
Some news about problem some have with whisper?
if someone from my guild whisp me, i can see name but if someone else whisp me, i can't see , nothing and so i can't answer because i can't click name.
one screenshot is better than words :)
I know i am not the only people here having this issue but i didnt see answer about this...
when one friend whisp me, i can see name, one guild member, i see too.
but someone else whisp me , i see just from: and no name.
if i whisp someone, and this person answer me , i can't see name too.
Oh....you MUST have COLORED timestamps on if you are using the experimental module. That's your problem.
Your choices
Disable the experimental module (set to "Dont Load")
Enable the timestamps module, and check the "colored timestamps" option
Wait for me to move the code for 2 column chatframes into the timestamps module.
Hummm..yeahh, now i remember one answer from you but i thought it didnt about my problem :p
first, i don't use 2 column chatframes and anyway, i dont know how use it.
Experimental module always disabled here (set to "dont load" so)
then, i just enabled the timestamps module and i can see all is checked by default (it means timestamp color is on)
And, maybe i am not very smart with that but what i really have to change there, in this module ?
Maybe now i enabled timestamps module, all will be ok, i hope :) but if it works, i really dont need timestamps....
Ahhh before now, i didnt think it was one color problem because no space, just missing name.
I've always used SpamMeNot with Prat for as long as I can remember. There were occasions when I had problems, but it always got fixed either by the author or by using an older version.

That's what I said. :p
That's what it sounded like in the original post. Then he said that using alt was annoying.

I am wondering if that's what caused what I posted in this thread before:

(the experimental module crashing the client)

I have the exact same problem, and even though we can see the name of the person sending the whisper by replying to them, its still kinda annoying :)

Thanks for your help, sincerely.
What its curious is that many people had this problem with missing name from whispers and some fixed this with disabling spammenot...and ....i use it.
i will give you here feedback but have a look at this screen from spammenot curse forum.
i just disabled SpammeNot and it seems ok.
i changed nothing about prat.
really curious to know how this addon can interfer with prat....
Now i have to deal with spammer :p
badboy works wonders against goldspammers, and good old ignore +ignoremore for the rest.
SpammeNot has been majorly buggy for a long time.
Thanks you for your advice.
i am looking at badboy on CC
Do same than me and wait for a release :p
I do not recommend running them at the same time.
