Not so sure where i should post this to, so please forgive me if this should not be posted here.
I've got a problem when doing the achievement "The Faceroller" in "Trial of the Champion". My action bar button did't switch at all.
Here is the case:
I just make it short, the boss will throw me his hammer and i have to throw it back to kill him. It suppose to replace my first action button after he throw me the hammer, but it didnt happen. And im not sure what causes this problem/bug. A quote from tactic for the achievement: "Once you have received the Hammer, your action bar will be replaced with an icon on your first button for throwing the Hammer back at Eadric."
But the thing is there are a druid in my group who is using Bartender4 as well except im not sure which version he is using. Somehow his BT4 was able to replace the action button, and he can actually throw back the hammer by pressing that button. Sadly, my action bar just remain the same, it didnt switch at all. Would it be my macros used on the first action button? or i just messed up with some settings?
Hopefully i can get some help here, thanks you very much~!

If im not misstaken the mechanic for the switch is the simmilar (or even same?) as used for vehicles/mindcontrol so you might need to define what bar to use for it.
I don't quite get how to use the custom visibility conditionals. I click the little "use custom conditionals" check box, but I don't seem to be able to input the conditionals I want anywhere. Am I overlooking something stupidly simple? What I really want is for my stance bar (warrior) to only show when I'm in my secondary spec. I think I know what the conditional for that is ... just ... where do I put it?
Also, when I change specs, I seem to loose quite a few buttons from my bars. They seem to be kind of random. Not clearly abilities that only exist in the spec I was in are safe or whatever. And it seems to change from time to time. (This is complicated by the fact that I'm almost never in my secondary spec. Sorry.)
I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me,

Think i have it fixed by Enable "ActionBar Paging" in "State Config" tab, and setting the "Default Bar State" to "Page 1"
Is there an option to reduce the number of buttons per bar similar to what Dominos has. E.G. I want 6 buttons per bar without losing them to the void. I know I can change the slider to display the number of buttons per bar but they are just lost at that point. So if I was to change it to 6 buttons per bar I would have 20 bars. This is just an example but is this possible with BT4?
I wish there was a way to use the extra buttons that you delete, or plain out just add action buttions to bars sorta like Macaroon does. That addon doesn't get updated enough to use, but the concept of using as many buttons on a bar as you want is pretty great.

The current release is not compatible with 3.3, however its already been fixed. If you know how to use Git, you can get the 3.3 branch from there, if you don't .. wait for the release =P
Does the new version correct the totem bar's placement against its bar template? All the other bars (stance bar, bars 1-10, etc.) line up correctly against their template. Here's what the totem bar does:
I searched the past few pages/months but couldn't find mention of this. When I switch specs (either main to off or visa versa) a group of empty bars(sometimes a copy of one of my bars-bar 8 probably) is drawn over the top of my UI.
if image doesn't show, it can be found at http://img138.imageshack.us/i/tempbar4error.jpg/
Seen above, the reputation bar is drawn in and what looks like 4 button spots overlapping shows above it. Here I have no bars behind it, but when there are bars in that spot they are drawn behind the problem bars.
Okay, lemme try to explain my problem here... I'm going to take it step by step to make sure it's as clear as possible.
I have three action bars on my screen.
I have them all set to page to another bar when I stealth. This works fine.
I would like to be able to use the SHIFT+mousewheel scrolling to page each bar to another bar, so that I can scroll over to a slightly different ability set for boss fights.
I set my bars up on the screen like this to get my abilities set up and make sure I had everything corresponding to the correct bars. After getting everything set up, I would turn the secondary bars off so they would only appear when I activate them (i.e. stealth, SHIFT+mousewheel).
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 1
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 2, I want to scroll to this from Bar 1
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 3, it is the stealth set for Bar 1
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 4
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 5, I want to scroll to this from Bar 4
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 6, it is the stealth set for Bar 4
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 7
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 8, I want to scroll to this from Bar 7
OOOOOOOOOOOO <- This is Bar 9, it is the stealth set for Bar 7
The problem I am running into is that when I scroll to another set of bars, all three bars (1, 4 & 7) scroll to the same bar, Bar 2. (Continuing to scroll leads me through Bars 3 to 5 and then to their original bars.) I would like for each bar to scroll down one level ( 1->2, 4->5, 7->8 ), each separate from the other.
Am I making any sense? I know it probably sounds a little weird without seeing my screen, which is why I tried to provide a bit of a diagram above.
I appreciate any help you can provide!
ADDITIONAL: While I have you all here, I might as well ask what "Default Bar State" is referring to. No matter what I do, SHIFT+mousewheel, stealthing, whatever, it makes no impact on how my bars act unless I choose another bar (page) from the list, which makes me wonder why you wouldn't just use the other bar in the first place. I feel there has to be a use for this feature that I'm just not understanding.
While I'm here I can answer RebelRousers question:
if you look at the "state configuration" tab of the bar you want to change (bar 1) you will find a section marked "modifier based switching". you can set the "shift" paging to page 2 and not have to use the scroll bar. right above that is the "stance configuration" section where you should have "page 3" set for stealth. you can use similar settings for the other bars you want to change.
your other question about default bar state is the page which appears when you are in normal fighting stance and no modifier is pressed.
if you look at the "state configuration" tab of the bar you want to change (bar 1) you will find a section marked "modifier based switching". you can set the "shift" paging to page 2 and not have to use the scroll bar. right above that is the "stance configuration" section where you should have "page 3" set for stealth. you can use similar settings for the other bars you want to change
Oh, I know about the modifier based switching, but that would be awkward and a bit of a pain to hold down the SHIFT key for an entire boss fight. Also, a few of my abilities are keybound to SHIFT+xx. I have certain abilities macroed to use trinkets (for example) and such for bossfights, and would like to scroll to an ability set that doesn't for when I'm out doing some world PvE or fighting raid trash.
As for stealth (stance) sets, I have those set up just fine.
Thank you for the help, however! I appreciate the answers.
You need to configure some custom states for the bars.
Its fairly simple, if you understand how the syntax works:
For the first bar:
[stealth:1]7;[bar:1/3/5]1;[bar:2/4/6]4
Second Bar:
[stealth:1]8;[bar:1/3/5]2;[bar:2/4/6]5
Third Bar:
[stealth:1]9;[bar:1/3/5]3;[bar:2/4/6]6
For a quick explanation:
the "bar" variable (short for actionbar - the state being controlled by the shift-mousewheel action) always cycles through 1-6, we can't control that. So you need to map all 6 states, luckily you have 2 sets of bars you want to cycle, so we can just use 3 per bar that cycle between your 2 bars.
So for your first bar, on state 1 or 3 or 5, use bar 1, on state 2 or 4 or 6, use bar 2, and of course similar for your second and third bar.
Hope you understand how it works, but well if you don't, you can still get it to work :)
Any additional states like for stealth in your case, need to be placed *before* those, or they won't work, since one of those states will always match, and like we know, it parses from the left to the right, and first rule that matches will be applied.
So the complete thing does the following (on the first bar)
Stealth? Use Bar 7. In State 1, 3 or 5? Use Bar 1. In State 2, 4, or 6? Use Bar 4.
Since the State condition will always be 1-6, one of those will always match.
I hope i didn't mess the syntax for the states up, since i'm at work and all my reference docs are at home ;)
For your "default bar state" question, well yes, you could just use the other bar in the first place, but it was a simple enough feature to add. But then again, the configuration bar numbers don't necessarily have to map to the real bar numbers in the game, since you can configure it freely.
At some point (probably for Cataclysm) i want to redesign the whole bar system to be more dynamic, and then the default thing will make more sense, i hope. :)
i have ever wondered, what all the possibilities are for the custom state changes.
is there any overview of the things (conditions, options) that are possible there?
Kind regards
