When I try and open the options with /bt i can't see any options (see attached image) and get the following error

I'm getting a similar prob with kgpanels which I just posted in, I'm guessing some other mod is interfering with both, I'll try and figure out which one.
You seem to be using the WotLK beta version on a live realm, or rather, one addon embedding Ace3 does so.
TBH if you have to be able to see the icon to know what spell is on what button you are going to last 5 seconds in PvP and be a nightmare in PvE.
I love the whole button thing because it's obvious to me from the relative position it is on the bar (I'm a rogue button masher, using a N52e pad, so autobar is only displayed on screen purely for range, energy and cooldown purposes and to allow me to map the keys in the same layout as the pad).
That may be fine if you're a rogue, but as a druid there are some bars I rarely see or use such as in human form. In addition, some of my more situational bear form spells are bound farther down at 8 to =. Its not easy to remember where Challenging Roar is if I use it once a week.
Nevcairiel, bt4 is a fantastic mod; it is efficient, easy to configure and visually appealing.

I'm getting a similar issue, except while I get the sidebar and all the options for the bars, the "General Settings" and "State Configurations" is gone in my options menu(and the bars are gone as well).
Any word on what addon that may be, or any way to check?

My first guess would be Collectinator since it's a Wrath-only addon :)
Ok, i've implemented a new visibility driver in the WotLK version of Bartender4. Currently you can choose the following states: Always Hide, Hide when Possessing a NPC, Combat/No Compat, Pet/No Pet, and the various Stances
If anyone has some suggestions for more useful states, please say so!
I'll add a "custom" box for you to input your own specific conditions in macro-syntax, for the special needs!
For example, the Petbar defaults to the following:
NoPet + Possess
[nopet]hide;[bonusbar:5]hide;show

This will make it possible to set dual hide/show conditions, right?
Like hide OOC unless holding a specific key, or hide IC unless holding a key/possessing something?
On a sidenote on hide/show, will there ever be a possibility with "soft" fade in/out?

You can do a custom condition for those, like
[combat][mod:alt]show;[nocombat]hide
Fade-In/Out is not possible right now, you can however use the "Fade-Out" option that was in before, that bars will be a certain alpha unless mouseover. But thats all i can do, for now.
In my current implementation "Only show on modifier" would be complicated to do, but meh, there is custom
I'll think about adding modifiers to my default list, but still wouldn't make yours possible right away, hrm, maybe i'll make the system more dynamic, or just teach people macro syntax :D

I'd really like to see an option to have the bars hidden until mouseover OR combat. That is, when I'm in combat, they automatically show. When I mouseover the bar it also shows, no matter when.
Another poster suggested earlier in the thread to have the bars hidden until a target is selected -- useful for range checking spells -- which is also a great idea. Again, that in combination with hide until mouseover would be good for me.

Hm, so you want to disable fadeout in certain situations, i'll think about that.
The target thing is actually possible:
[target=target,exist]show;hide
Thats not so easy as it sounds with all the restricted environment etc, i'll think about it.
Cool, didn't mean to sound ungreatful, I love BT :) I just miss that functionality when hopping from raiding, to pvp, to farming, to dailies, and just being able to cycle through the bars i want to see for each so easily.

Ok, i've cooked up a way to do that, for now only in Custom Format, but i suppose that works. Its not fully implemented yet, but here is what you would use:
[combat]show;fade
Show Bar in combat, otherwise fade
So what i've done is replaced the blizzard handler with my own that knows "show", "hide", and "fade". I'll have to think about how the options will work, i'll explain that once i'm done.
Hi...
I just started using Bartender4 and discovered that when I type in /bar or any other command line it doesn't work. So I started looking for people who had the same trouble in this forum. No one had it so I had to find it out myself.
At the end I found out that the Ace3 Lib is somehow blocking the BT3 options. I disabled it and everything works fine now.
I just thought you should know

Are you talking about BT3 or BT4? To access BT4 use /bt4

Awesome, Nevcairiel. Thanks so much for working on this option. :)
Oh just wanted to let you guys know, that i've shifted my main development to a Git repository because its so much nicer and easier for me, although i'll try to merge my changes occasionally to svn, until WoWAce offers Git too.

See screenshot of my #1 button now becoming ALL BUTTONS! WOO! :)

Awesome, Nevcairiel. Thanks so much for working on this option. :)
You can find the Git here: http://github.com/Nevcairiel/bartender4/tree/master
Just that you don't worry if you don't see commits on svn for a while... :)
