I am trying to set up my bars Using Macaroon with Masque Trinity but cannot get the Menu bar and Bag bar buttons to change shape regardless of the settings I change. Is there something I am missing or is this intended? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Not sure about Macaroon but in most cases, the Menu Bar cannot be reskinned. If the bag bar doesn't reskin then perhaps Macaroon doesn't support it. /shrug
I can't imagine why not. They're not magic, and they're far less complicated than action buttons. The addon author just needs to add the code to register them with Masque, with the appropriate texture layers identified or added.
Actually, it might be better placed in the BlizzFacade project... whatever that's being called now.
What I meant was that the menu buttons are not square and the textures are not designed the same as action buttons. Skin authors would have to make a separate skin and textures, etc, for those. Which is why most button add-on authors don't register them.
Probably wouldn't be too hard to do, though... the addon would just need to resize the textures after Masque applied them, or Masque would need to detect that the button it was skinning was not square (or close enough to square) and adjust accordingly. I don't have time to try anything, though, nor any motivation since I haven't seen a micro menu button on my screen in years. :p
I'm having a problem with Geist not saving third party skins. It seems to work fine with the built-in skins, but using anything else causes it to default back to the built-in Blizzard skin. Any ideas?
I just figured the author would have a clue, and since I wasn't in a crashing hurry I'd just ask. As it turns out it makes absolutely no difference at all. Masque just doesn't work (for me, anyway) in the MoP Beta. Yet.
Thanks StormFX. Unfortunately, though, until there's a MoP version of the Ace3 libraries, things look to be on hold. (Although, I haven't checked for an update for A3 today, so......)
I did a quick test of Masque r381 on the MoP beta using the Renaitre skins with Raven alpha r233 (built with Ace3 alpha r1051). I had to change one line in LibDualSpec (replace GetActiveTalentGroup with GetActiveSpecGroup) to make it work. I haven't seen any other issues, although it should be noted that Raven likely doesn't exercise Masque's full functionality.
Notice: If the text on your buttons is positioned strangely after downloading the latest release, get an updated skin. I've been running compatibility code for out-dated skins for over a year now. If the skin's author hasn't updated the skin by now, it's time to move on. :P
Alternatively, leave me a link to the skin you're using on this page and I'll post a patch for it when I get around to it. :P
Thanks Phanx! You're right--I'd thought Masque was a replacement for Macaroon. I'll try that.
Katt: Done.

Just wondering since I'd like to test my Masque plug-ins on the Beta.
