Just wanted to pay my respect to the author of this fine addon. Not a single spam-message has gone through BadBoy's defences since I installed it a week ago or so. Good work and thank you for keeping me spam free!
Thank you! ^^

Thanks for this addon. But why does the addon only complain phrase-matched spam?

BANG BOOM ..your computer will go if you update. Nah, not really. But I commited the pre 2.0 beta which is using phrases instead of websites in an effort to cut down on an ever increasing database. Memory from 8~kb to 3~kb.
As a result BadBoy may or may not miss a lot, please report the full length of lines in these posts, I will edit your post after reviewing it and making the proper adjustments to BadBoy.
As an added extra I fixed the wrong name appearing when reporting manually, it will now show no name.
If you don't want to be a test slave, don't update. ;p

That just got through the filter.
The first since i installed it a week ago <3
Thanks, I'll ad it in.
I'm currently working on v2beta2 which is using keywords instead of phrases. The system matches keywords and adds a point to the message. If the message has more 3 points or more it is then reported. This system is actually the most efficient and should prove to be accurate, it should also reduce the amount of needed updates. The only downside currently is localization which I'm more than willing to support. Just keep in mind direct translations probably won't work, you will need to be smart about the keywords.
I'll commit b2 a little later after more personal testing. It is basically an overhaul, and I'm still not sure if I want to go through with it.
Ok major flaw in that system of how I handle points. I can't have locales in separate tables, I'd need a big one, now I'm tempted to scrap all this and go back to URL's. >.<
forgive me if this is a noobish question but from a simple user-common sense point of view I would suggest the following:
Well, regarding the possible conversion from URLs to phrases, wouldn't it be more convenient to keep the URLs since internet addresses are (more or less) universal for all languages while, on the other hand, phrases need to be collected and maintained for every single localisation - which then, in my humble opinion, would sort of spoil the easiness and overall effectiveness of this great addon. By "spoiling" I mean usefulness for users with different languages, if one language is more thoroughly maintained and updated than the other, while URLs would work for all localisations. Let alone, collecting URLs seems much easier than dissecting phrases which can be altered by goldspammers in no time to avoid this little BadBoy :-)
If I missed a point or if it's simply crap, just forgive the stuff above, just my 2 cents from a loyal user ;-)

You are completely correct, the 2.0 idea was scrapped and I went with 1.6 which just had a few fixes/updates. The URL's will stay.

Sorry, I need a full sentance.

New one just now.

(in the future do you want full phrase examples like this or just the URL?)
??
I want the full phrase, I'll edit your posts after to a link only so it's not 'advertising' on the forum.
I'll fix it, don't worry. :)
What version is that?
Nevermind, seems I missed a comma which killed the whole addon. Should be fixed on next update.
