A new PTR version is now in the branches. It contains some debug messages that I'd like to learn about if you see them (for certain events/situations).
Id be willing to test this on the PTR, how do I get this version? currently Im using the latest version on the PTR and besides an error about max combat log range nothing else happens at all wrt the addon.
I have no clue about accuracy at this point. Goal currently is to complete all transitions of the code and work out the kinks that happened due to small changes in the way the combat log is different now.
In theory recount should be about as accurate as it was pre-2.4. I hope to improve some things in that category, specifically pet handling, so theoretically it should get somewhat better eventually.
Basically everything you get off the branches/curse PTR downloads is distinctly alpha and not finished yet.
But on the plus side, recount already basically works on the PTR, so that isn't so bad :D
Yep I added this to be able to debug the death count. What is relevant is if those messages are correct or not. I.e. if the death should have been recorded (was in combat) or not.
If I get a good sense that this detection is still working as intended I'll remove the debug message.
The PTR Recount is alpha and I'll keep on using print messages, so if you see them I really appreciate if you report them, best with the context in which you got them. Once I'm sure the situation is as intended I'll remove those prints.
I still don't have a high level character on PTR (thanks to messed up Euro copies), so I really appreciate all the help debugging, because I simply cannot create a lot of important test cases myself currently.
For tonight's raid (latest version of recount), I got no recount debugg messages. However, we had a paladin spec prot for the third boss (lots of undead spawn) and almost no damage was being recorded from him... so maybe consecration not being tracked? Not sure, cause he was always like 20 yards away from me, and should have been doing enough melee damage to be higher... but he had almost no damage recorded.
The deaths seemed to record correctly for me - though when you click on the death to see the log it's not very helpful yet.
This was for a 6 minute fight... were for 3 of those minutes he was tanking probably 20ish summoned skeletons. He should have had a crazy amount of damage done, and asked for a link of the meters, which is when I noticed he was below.
I'm not positive, but I don't think he touched the boss much, he was probably just cleansing/offhealing until the adds spawned, so it seems like maybe the summoned mobs didn't get recorded and what's there was just splash damage on the boss a few times? Not sure.
