I have heard casual reports that the combat log reports duplicate lines under some circumstances. This may or may not explain this phenomenon. Sadly online damage meters have a problem handling random duplications, especially when we do not want to burden the system under heavy raiding conditions. I have heard that WoL tries to correct for this, and given that they do their processing offline they have ample time to do so and have the full combat log, not just current and past events to work with. But even then I do not know how accurate their correction algorithm is and if in fact WoL may over-correct and all that.
Now there may be other things at play, so please report and we can try to figure out what is going on.
If you can afford it you can try to run a second meter in parallel and see if they show comparable numbers (totals, not DPS!). If yes, then it's a consequence of the combat log, if no it's a difference in addons.

WoL only removes exact duplicate lines, so there shouldn't be any over-correction. This works most of the time, but there have been reports of duplicate lines that are not exactly the same (some ms difference in timestamp). These are not corrected by WoL.
Gotcha. Really the combat log duplication problem is a bug on Blizzard's side, and just one of a few. In fact I think it is fair to say that the combat log has been degrading in parseable quality since about 4.0.6.
I think the problem is recount. The top is skada and the bottom is recount.
Sometimes recount works fine other times it does not but skada seems to not show bad data.

So Skada shows a summary of ~1433M Dmg and Recount shows only 314M Dmg, how exactly are those to windows comparable?
For me it looks like Skada is showing the whole log and Recount only last boss!?
Yeah the screen shots are clearly not comparable. If anything I see that the top damage dealers are fairly consistent, which is what I'd expect if things go about right, and variation is found in the lower ranks, again as expected.
From the screenshots I cannot discern any pathologies, but it is largely due to the data clearly not being of the same combat-log content.
You'll have to post data of both addons reseted at the same time and used in the same mode and with same or similar pet-merge patterns over the same combat events.
Well both were started at the same time, but you can see warrior damage way higher on recount then skada. So how does one mod show way higher damage than the other when both were reset before the pull?
Also if blizzard log bugs out shouldn't both mods get the bug at the same time?
There's been pulls where both were equal then pulls were recount was way off compared to skada.
We can only compare totals, which is why I asked for totals.
Until I get totals of the same spans of combat log activity we won't ever be able to credibly compare things.
Sadly character copy queue is full for days, else I'd be testing this. But I cannot so I rely on you guys to give me data that is useful to draw conclusions from.
It's only not possible on EU, except it's entirely possible to get a premade in the EU right now:
1) Go to battle.net log in and click Account at the top
2) Click Games & Codes and choose "Buy Digital Games" - Don't worry, no purchase needed
3) In the top right, change your game region to North America
4) Go back to account
5) Add in "WoW Starter World of Warcraft Americas & Oceania (US)"
6) Go to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/charc...cter-copy.html
7) Copy a premade character
8) Choose Brill EU (unless you want a pvp server)
9) Enjoy your 378 character of choice!
If you already used that trick for earlier patches, you have to call customer service and delete those us-accounts.
I am trying to save a separate profile for recount, but every I alter the profiles in any way it locks up my game completely. I tried deleting all of the profiles but the one with the settings I am using, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the addon. This did not fix the problem though. Is anyone else having this problem, or is there a solution to it already?

The problem isn't Recount. Skada has shown doubled events for me. The bug is very random and hard to nail down, it is a Blizzard issue.

That screen shot is from a 4min rag attempt.

add an us-testing account to you bnet and then you are able to copy over the premades to an eu.ptr account.
