That's odd. I am familiar with this kind of error but it only tends to happen when people update Recount and don't restart WoW or are on a realm that is not US/Europe. Do you use any mode plugins that perhaps have not been updated for 4.2?
I'm seeing some serious framerate issues that seem to be caused by Recount - I've seen it drop to single figure fps within minutes of play, but generally it tends to drop to around 10fps or so once I'm a handful of fights into my play session.
My girlfriend experiences the same results when installing it too. If we both disable Recount, framerate is steady as a rock.
There are many possible reasons. One is that the machine you use is memory challenged. Another is that the data collection settings you have are too heavy. Another is that there is some weird legacy settings in the WTF settings.
Most importantly don't install any outdated modules. Especially the GuessedAbsorbs module has been reported to create a lot of memory but noone should use it given that it is both deprecated and unnecessary. Recount comes with proper absorb tracking.
There are other third party modules, and their "safety" really depends on the respective maintainer.
Memory was only ONE possibility that Elsia brought up - if that isn't the case, then it's likely a plugin (as was mentioned) that is tearing the CPU up.
Question to developers: whether you look sometimes on tickets page?
Almost all tickets have "new" status.
Very important problem about Fire elementals opened about 1 month ago and nothing changes.
Sadly...
Most tickets are not helpful I am afraid to say. If there is a pressing issue with good support material to reproduce I encourage to post here. I have at times tried to keep ahead of tickets but frankly it's impossible. A very large portions of the tickets are not helpful and the time spend to just keep things clean is way beyond my pay-grade.
I'm traveling for the week so won't be doing anything about this. But yes it's a buggy way of handling the elementals in the combat log, where flags are set wrong and the sequence makes it difficult to track, especially when multiple summon events happen for the same cast.
Is there anyway to see a breakdown of damage done by pet? As a Demo lock i have a plethora of pets up during an encounter and the only one I can see is the one shown in the hover over display.
Im using my own recount plugin to track the efffective DPS (damage/combat duration).
Recount have an All Right reserved license so I wish to know the policy about Recount plugins. Can be published and uploaded to wowace ?
I have committed a possible fix for guardians of guardians that broke due to blizzard bugs in 4.0.6. Works for me solo but the crucial feedback I need is if people can properly see greater elementals attributed to other shamans in a party or raid now. Once I get confirmation I'll tag it for release. The alpha can be found here: r1171
I nabbed the latest SVN version that you tagged for release, and it kept on complaining that it couldn't find libdropdown. I nabbed the latest release of it from wowace, and now it seems to be working cleanly! Not sure if it's an issue with the release, or with my copy.
I have issues with Recount! I love it as a damage meter, but, off and on over the last 3 or 4 months, it causes my game to crash. I disable all but this mod and the game wont load. Kind of irritating, since I enjoy this mod over the others. Tired of having to use something different while I wait for an update to occur.
Warlock T12 2P spawns an ebon imp, which is takiing priority over my felhunter. Recount is showing on a recent fight 12.9K damage for the ebon imp, and not including the 844K my felhunter did. Showing pets separately I can see the felhunter's damage, but it is NOT being included in my damage.
This occurs anytime i have an ebon imp proc from my T12, and it shows the same on all the other raidmembers recount. This brings the DPS shown for me down by nearly 5K on most fights.

Any suggestions?

There may be more possible reasons I miss.
Any idea if there are any steps I can take in order to figure out what the problem is?
