I will be doing Coliseum and Ulduar 25 tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes. Unfortunately, since I play a balance Druid myself, I'm always able to see my treant damage correctly merged, but the same cannot be said for our enhancement shaman's wolves (at least until last Wednesday's clear), since I used to be able to see his pets, as a separate combatant.
Yeah thanks for the logs. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for vehicles, I'll have to set aside some solid time to figure out a way to handle vehicles better. They do not generate SPELL_SUMMON or a related event when entered which makes things tricky'ish.
I'm pretty sure that GC just misspoke about absorb changes... no evidence at all that the API changed re absorbs. I don't think it's a huge issue though. GuessedAbsorbs turn out to be actually pretty good in typical use.
Entering a vehicle fires UNIT_ENTERING_VEHICLE and UNIT_ENTERED_VEHICLE, and on leaving fires UNIT_EXITING_VEHICLE and UNIT_EXITED_VEHICLE, if that's any help :)
As far as I know those events do not return a unitID or GUID which makes it hard to associate the vehicle with its proper owner. Hell, I'm not even sure if they fire for any other unit, except the player himself.
What exactly are the symptoms with vehicles? They don't show at all? They only show if unmerged? They don't show randomly?
Code is there to handle vehicles (implicitly through pet detection), so I wonder why it may not be working as intended.
Single person vehicles seem to be fine such as when you use the mounts in the new 5 man dungeon. Multi person mounts such as on Flame Leviathan a lot of the time doesn't record all the vehicles. Though I'm not even sure if the different parts of the vehicles, e.g the siege engine and the turret position on the siege engine are even able to be linked as coming from the same vehicle.
I seem to recall, at least, the people in cannons for the siege engines showing this issue. Unless I unmerged the pets, I usually wouldn't see the data from people manning the cannons. I'm in the process of moving, so likely not going to get a chance to test this myself further for another week or so, to make sure my memory of it is indeed correct. :P
Had the same thing happen yesterday when doing Onyxia10, Recount didn't seem to have recorded anything. I did the level 60 version the day before the patch and it wouldn't record anything then either. Don't know if I was the only one who didn't get any data though.
I'm using the latest version available here on WowAce.
