It depends. I don't intend to add stuff that cannot be derived from the combat log. But some procs (extra swings) can be. Also some buff/debuff related info can be derived. Some of this stuff can already be inferred from what recount displays. I'll put it on my list of things to consider.

I'm committing a fix for this, but it's a matter of old formated data still being present. Reseting data should prevent this error from occuring because then only valid data structures will be present.
So even your current version should function without this error once data has been deleted once.
Try reloading UI. I'm aware that some profile copying don't take effect immediately but haven't gotten around to fix it.
As for positioning I'm aware there is an issue with high resolution displays and positioning. Unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce the problem and hence have a hard time to even figure out what causes the issue code-wise.
Thanks. I think I got an idea what caused this. I assume you hadn't collected any data? If that was the case a fix is incoming.
I had collected data, I noticed it wasn't working properly. Did a quick Tempest Keep raid then after the raid I got a guild member to invite me to a party and the Recount window still didn't appear and I had the raid data still.
Hmm weird. OK try the fix I committed and let me know if the problem persists.
Using build 968 I couldn't get recount to show when I joined a raid group, I then left the group and then cleared the recount data and got invited back to the raid group, it still didn't show the window.

I realise now isn't the ideal time for feature requests (bugs > features, as you said), but I'll suggest it as something you may possibly consider in the future.
Would it be possible to add a Taunts category, similar to the Interrupts and Ressers category which already exists? We'd find it useful to see which tank taunted what, and when, etc., and which tank has taunted the most in the raid. A list of taunts which come to mind are:
Can't think of any others at the moment, but if I do, I'll add them to this post.
Edit #1: Mocking Blow (Warrior) - http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=694 - Not sure about this one/its mechanics, but I think it was previously only usable in Battle Stance, but now works in Defensive Stance, too.
