Short answer: You can't. Recount doesn't allow you to permanently save specific fights.
Long answer: You could fake it. To save data,
1. After you've collected all the data you want to save, reload your UI.
2. Copy your Recount saved variables. Name the copy of the file something specific, like the boss name, or the dungeon, or the date, or some combination of those.
3. Reset Recount in-game to start collecting new data.
To view old data,
1. Log out.
2. Delete your Recount saved variables.
3. Copy an old data file and rename the copy to simply "Recount.lua"
4. Log in. You're now viewing the data as if you'd never reset or collected anything new in the interim.
I have been having a problem where recount removes all my data when I die and release. This has happen today and yesterday in ZA when we have been attempting timed runs (so can't hand around waiting for a rez). When I zone back in all my dmg done etc is set back to zero while everyone else's is where they left off.
I'm sorry I can't be more help full in providing error messages or something but I don't know what you would need to help identify this issues that I am having. I update all my addon's once a day they its the most current version each time.
Thanks
Had this same problem in sunwell today as we ran out to reset a trash pack. I guess someone with Recount was still inside syncing me data while i wasn't inside. I have Recount set to not record data outside of instances if that's to any help.
Hmm weird, can to turn on the hide when not collecting option and let me know if the window does not disappear as it should?
I have two addon sets that I use, one for questing on for raiding/instances etc. I loaded my instance set and reloadedui and recount didn't appear (because it was set to hide when not collecting). After entering an instance and starting combat etc recount still didn't appear. If I typed /recount show (or what ever it is to get the recount mod to show up) it would appear but still not collect any data.
I have "reset on party" and "reset on raid" enabled, both with the "new" and "confirm" options enabled. I do not have "reset on instance" enabled. Upon joining a raid group, I recieve a prompt to reset my Recount data; this behavior is correct. However, after entering a raid instance, the first time the RAID_ROSTER_UPDATE event is fired, I recieve another prompt to reset the data; this behavior is not correct.
Right now i'm using Violation however recently its been acting weird concerning pets. It'll give me my stats, my pet stats, and an "Unknown" stat that mirrors my pets stats. Gamebreaking no, annoying to me at least yes.
So i tried out Recount and like it so far but i wanted to know if there was an option to reset the data shown upon entering combat like Violation does. I looked around but didn't see one. And if that option isn't available is it possible to get one?
New patch today broke recount. Recount shows fine it just doesn't display and damage data from any sources.
Works for my shaman, but spams chatbox with errors:
Recount: Unknown combat log event type: SPELL_AURA_BROKEN
Recount: Unknown combat log event type: SPELL_DISPELL
The latest version is working fine for me and resolved the unknown combat log errors, but the robots in Sunwell cause a lua error on line 798 of Tracker.lua
Recount was showing the main tank as healing Illidan with the "Draw Soul" spell under "Healing Done". Should it be including healing done to enemy targets?
I'm just starting to play with LDB and would love to see Recount compatibility. The easiest thing seems to be to just make Recount a "launcher" object (i.e. you get a clickable button). Is this something that could be implemented into Recount or should a broker_recount module similar to RecountFu be created instead?

I've seen the same thing. Since the main tank doesn't actually originate any healing (other than from Improved Leader of the Pack if he's grouped with a feral druid), it's easy enough to ignore his entry on the meter, but it would be nice for Recount to ignore healing done to enemies, at least as an option.

LibDataBroker...
I would prefer that a separate module be made for LibDataBroker if anything. Currently there are no LibDataBroker-compatible displays that meet my needs, so I continue to use (the old Ace2 version of) FuBar, and would like to avoid running another library whose functionality is 100% wasted on me.
I'd like Recount to only save successfull bosskills when having ''save only boss segments'' ticked. Easy to go back and review all bosses when you don't have the fight log filled up with wipe attempts.
No, please, not without a separate option; I think being able to review failed attempts is very valuable, especially when learning new content. What I would very much like to see, however, is a setting to adjust how many segments are saved. Five is not enough in most situations.

Thank you very much.

It didn't happen when I entered the Black Temple, so hopefully that means it's resolved. I'll let you know if it happens again.

Does this maybe make merging of the elementals damage to the shaman possible?
