Also got these two things:
1. Altoholic removes itself from FuBar each time I relog.
2. Option to hide/show fubar text and Icon(like most other fubar addons have).
Speaking of Fubar... recently the plugin keeps disappearing from Fubar.
Re-adding it on a bar won't make it stay for the next time you enter the game...
I have found a VERY annoying thing caused by Altoholic.
Whenever i shift + left click a stack of an item to link an item in chat it triggers the "split stack" function (this is only supposed to happend on shift + RIGHT click).
When i dissable Altoholic this behavior stops and shift + left click nolonger triggers the "split stack" function.
Would be nice if we could atleast get an option to dissable this behaviour. (if there is one, i can't find it)
I kinda like being able to link a item thats part of a stack without having to close the "split stack" popup every time :p
popped a whole bunch of errors this morning. First 6 on startup.

Not sure if these last 2 are related in any way.

You might want to try cleaning the addon's directory and install the latest version while the game is not running. It behaves like this when the included files have changed and the addon is reloaded with reloadUI.
It might also be linked to a conflict between libraries with another addon.
Also, which version are you using ? and in which language do you play ?

I NEVER EVER do an update with the game running, thats just asking for trouble.
Was working fine when i loggen on this morning (bout 1h before post) but had some problems with another addons so i ran an update.
So probably some libs are updated and dun agree with altoholic.
engEU ver 2.4.012 of wowinterface.
Might be related to that i run disembedded libs and thus have to copy the libs from the libs folder to my main folder to get everythung to not go nutts).

That's the right way to do it, no offense, but since I don't know the user, I'm obliged to ask this question to put this potential cause out of the way :)

This is the problem, I'm using the libs that are in the subdirectory Libs. This will most likely be adjusted when I put the addon on svn, but until then, you have to keep them there.

Bit strange thou that it worked perfect untill this morning :/
And using altoholic only with embeded will prolly mess with all other addons using those libs :/
Super addon - however i think ive spotted a bug in regards to recipees
i have [Design: Ruby Serpent] stored in my guild vault, and my JC know this design however the tooltip states that my JC can learn this - I think maybe its due to the fact that the item created from this recipe is called "Figurine - Ruby Serpent"
hopes this makes any sence
also a request to exclude certain guilds from the total.
in my case i have a guild on my toon with its own guild bank and all items in that bank are mine, my main however is part of another guild with its own guild bank and all items in there are, so to speak, off limit, and therfor would be nice to not show these items in my tooltip.

All recipie tracking addons has this problem and its related to Blizzards retarded naming of the designs.
For [Design: Ruby Serpent] the addons will look for "Ruby Serpent" not "Figurine - Ruby Serpent" noo other recipies has this "oddity" in the naming.
Maybe there can be set some special rules for them, but the best way would prolly be to nag on Blizzard to rename either the formula to [Design: Figurine - Ruby Serpent] or rename the listing in known recipied to just "Ruby Serpent"
I don't know how other addon's match recipes vs the actual skill, some of them have equivalence tables, but I try to match names (see the link). Unfortunately, as Kerecha said, Blizzard is not entirely consistant in their naming conventions, which forces addon authors to keep track of exceptions.. This demands to much time & effort for little return, so you will understand that I won't support a list of exceptions.
When in doubt though, you have the option to search known recipes on "Ruby Serpent" and you should see both the recipe & the known craft.
Regarding your second request, I doubt I'll implement guild filtering at this point. Might be something for much later. There are quite a few things I want to work on in the coming weeks, especially data sharing :)
There's no slash command yet. The addon lives a little bit on its own so far, but I intend to change this as I make progress. There will be fubar support as well soon.
Are there specific actions you'd like to do via the command line other than opening the GUI ?
it would be great if you could search from the command line. i am looking to replace the addon "possessions" with altoholic. posessions allows me to do something like "/poss nether" and it will open showing me all of the inventory items i have on any of my guys that match against the string "nether". i'm a fast typist, so this is faster for me than grabbing the mouse, clicking on the fubar icon or the macro or whatever to open the mod, then typing my search string into the box.
I don't know how other addon's match recipes vs the actual skill
tradeskills can give a link for the item they create thru the tradeskill api (gettradeskillitemlink, i think). so there'd you'd have a connectio between the recipe and the item. personally, i use item id's for both, but you can also extract the name.
@mckeown: I'll see what I can do for you, shouldn't take to long to code :)
@lilsparky: thanks, I didn't know that, I'll see if I can do something with it then!
edit: just checked (time-lapse in KZ :P) and I'm actually already using GetTradeSkillItemLink. But the link of the item to be crafted cannot be matched with the recipe (unless there's a way to get the id of the item created with the recipe), which is why I'm matching on names. As I said, I don't want to use any kind of equivalence table that should have to be maintained.

i don't know how you're storing your data, but i would suggest storing by id and not name.
it's trivial to convert a link to an item id. look up itemlink or itemstring on wowwiki and i think it has a pretty standard way of doing it. ditto with enchant id's (which is what recipes use).
for any tradeskill, you can get the recipelink and the itemlink (gettradeskillrecipelink and gettradeskillitemlink). convert the two links into ids and now you've got an id for the recipe and an id for the item create from that recipe.
Ok, I have time to make a correct reply now, I was in the middle of KZ yesterday evening, with little time to check my code & wowwiki.
I'm already using GetTradeSkillRecipeLink & GetTradeSkillItemLink, but the thing is that we're not talking about 2 links here, but 3:
ex:
1) The plan: [Plans: Adamantite Breastplate] (id 23596)
2) The recipe: [Blacksmithing: Adamantite Breastplate] (id 29606)
3) The craft: [Adamantite Breastplate] (id 23507)
What you are suggesting me is to make the link between 2 and 3, but what I actually need is to make the link between 1 & 2 or 1 & 3. Whenever I have a plan (formula, pattern, etc..) in my bags (or at the AH), the plan does not give me the id of the item that can be crafted with it, so the only way to make the connection is based on the names included in 1 & 2. I hope this is clear :)
Now, if there's a way to know that plan 23596 teaches me 29606 to craft item 23507, I don't know about it, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong ^^
Regarding the way I store data, I actually save both 2 & 3, as I want to be able to link the 2 information in search results.

2. Option to hide/show fubar text and Icon(like most other fubar addons have).
The fubar bug is also fixed.
Regarding point 2, I intend to provide better fubar support at a later stage, but this has a low priority at the moment.
