I'm having some trouble getting a whitelist to work on my focus, when the focus is a boss.
I'm trying to white filter a group for the Nether Power buff from Jaraxxus in 10man TOC. I create the new group, filter for Buff, change target to Focus. Then select Nether Power in the whitelist filter Buff. Its the only buff checked.
When the boss gets the buff, my group remains blank.
I've played with the 2 other options (forget the names, like timeless buff and self cast?), to change them to white list and nothing happens.
Any ideas?
Also, the addon seems to have to learn the buffs each time/game session.
Is there a future feature to save the buff names to SV so they persist?
In my situation, the addon is of no use on the first attempt, and is only useful if we wipe and the boss cast Nether Power.
If a buff is set in a white/blacklist, its name will be remembered across sessions.
WRT the problem itself, in theory it should work the way you did it, meaning the filter set to:
-buff
-target: focus
-whitelist buff Nether Power
-no filter on either timeless nor selfcast
maybe upload your SVs so I can have a quick look at the settings if I see something odd.
ty usefull addon.
I hided the whole addon by mistake(hide plugin) and i have no idea to show the small circle again(no more hide plugin to deselect)
any idea?
thx
btw when no buffs are on target or yourself a default buff appears, called "Blessing of demons..." how can I remove it or is there any way to auto-hide the whole bar when there's no buffs? It's rly annoying
one more thing bothers me is I move the bars by accident in PVP. any idea to lock the bars?
I guess some1 have answered this but i couldnt find.
ty It's really helping me
Blessing of Demonstration (Blessing of Demons... since your frame don't room for the entire name) is just a sample debuff/buff that is displayed while in configmode so that you know how the display looks if you have no active buff/debuff in that category.
It will go away as soon as you exit config mode by locking the anchors. (deselect "show anchor" from the the top of the options for each grp, u can acess this by rightclicking the achor, or type /ebb config and select it from the Group settings - group # section.) This will also lock the frames in place so they cant be moved and remove the "box" below them, The bars will align where the bottom of the anchorbox is. (Basicly you have been playing with EBB in active config mode all along)
what file does it store my debuff blacklist? just thought it would be easier to manage them that way as I end up with way too many to add using in game interface. (checked saved variables etc, swear it wasnt in there! unless its in there as a spell ID or something)

The blacklist is indeed in your SavedVariabls. Look in WTF\AccountName\SavedVariables\ElkBuffBars.lua. Look for the key named "names_exclude".

ops so it is :D
While i'm here might as well ask another question :P
Have the default 3 bars, buffs, one for debuff and the 3rd one that I decided to make snares only. I went through wowhead and gathered up loads of snares, added them to the white list for bar 3 but nothing ever shows - they still show on the default bar 2 for debuffs. I have set bar 3 to debuffs too - I assumed they would jsut be duplicated or does a debuff only ever show on one bar?

They can show on as many bars as you want them to, make sure you don't have any blacklists on the bar where you are using whitelist. DBL check what is showing and so on.
Not sure what am I doing wrong, but I can't see vehicle buffs at all. Satrina's Buff Frames is working fine, showing everything while EBB is crippled on that. Any chance for fixing this issue?
Hi, I'm a big fan of this addon, but occasionally, like during a 25 man raid, the buff bars go off the screen. Is there a way to limit the number of buffs that can be set? or possibly not to show certain buffs (like int buffs if ur a rogue) short of black/white-listing?

Ugh huh.. right click the group, and you'll see 'filter' .. it's all there.
I play a few characters, so the profiles help a lot when configuring EBB for each of them, however I'd like to have two different sets of profiles. One for group layouts and visual settings, and a second one for the list of buffs/debuffs that show on each group.
I'll elaborate. For all my characters I have, for example, (1) a group that shows me the debufs I can put on my target, (2) a group that shows some buffs I want to track and (3) a group of important debuffs I'd like to track on my target.
But each character would need to have different buffs in each. (these are just example to explain). my hunter would need to see in (1) serpent sting, aimed shot, piercing shots, in (2) rapid fire, trinkets, heroism and in (3) hunter's mark, sunder armor, faerie fire.
But then my rogue would need instead to see in (1) poisons, rupture, expose armor, in (2) slice and dice, hunger for blood and in (3) sunder armor, dismantle, disarm.
I could set up a profile on my hunter, then on my rogue copy the profile and tweak the filters to watch different (de)buffs. But next time I move groups around in the screen, or change the bars' sizes etc, I'll need to copy the profile again and redo the filters.
My suggestion is to have a set of profiles for the group/bar layouts and another set of profiles for the filters. This might be too complicated, so the other suggestion would be an option to only copy group settings or filter settings from a profile.
I.e. I can have (a) rogue buff profile, (b) hunter buff profile and (c) layout profile. When I need to update the layout profile, I can log on my rogue for example, switch to profile (c) and make the changes I want, then switch back to the profile (a) with the buff filters I like and import the layout from (c). Then I can do the same with my hunter. Both characters now have the same layout and each has its own filters, without me having to manually update each of their profiles.

Been wondering about the "doability" of this to.
